  • Finally starting to look like a Fallout game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
Good graphics improvements when compared to FO4, huge open world map. If you like fast paced 1st persons this is not for you, this is a slow paced survival game. Still needs bug fixes and it does crash once in a while. I’m sure Bethesda will address those little issues soon... Change of mind, the more I play this game the more I realize how poorly executed it was. After two updates fixing minor bugs, the huge problems remain, it doesn’t crash as much as before but instead you are logged out of the server even more, so there’s no real improvement, specially after spending half of your resources trying to claim a junkyard in order to get scraps in return. Objects keep dancing around, enemies float in the air, trying to snipe a giant scorpion at a safe distance? No point, it’ll suddenly appear right in front of you right before pulling the trigger, building is annoyingly limited, carrying and holding capacity is still annoyingly limited even after the 200 lbs increment, no more fun interactions with game characters and no companions. After a few patches the game is finally starting to improve. There are still some issues with the servers but the majority of the problems have been resolved, a little too late? Maybe not if you haven’t played the game yet. Overall it’s still a good game, definitely not as good as FO4 but still a good game. It seems like Bethesda was finally able to fix the game with the latest upgrade. I wish that this latest patch had been the release version, but once again, a little too late? Maybe not for the real fans or for those who had not played it yet. It just finally feels like fallout, the game doesn’t seem to have any bugs, there are no game crashes, no unexpected visual flaws that I was able to detect, no lag. If you were thinking about getting this game but decided not to after all the bad reviews, you made the right call, but now the right call is to get it and finally experience fallout the way it was meant to be all along. ... show more

  • Lots of fun with friends
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
So people are review bombing this game. Largely because they're unhappy it isn't just a single player game. Sometimes because they're not happy with it. Key complaints with responses. 1) Buggy. Yes. It has bugs. They can be annoying. They'll hopefully get fixed quickly. 2) Nothing to do. Simply put, I don't know what they're talking about. The map is huge, the quest list is long. Yes dialogue is voiced from tapes instead of NPCs, not the end of the world. But it doesn't mean there is nothing to do. 3) Lack of ammo. Blatantly untrue. If you can't find ammo, it's because you're not looking or killing anything. I am literally forgoing picking up ammo at this point I have so much. Maybe with fully automatic weapons you might have an issue. But with using a hunting rifle, I'm getting .308 ammo faster than I'm using it. And melee weapons are some of the most powerful in the early game anyway. It's a bit ridiculous. 4) Microtransactions. Yeah they exist but they do not affect the game play at all. AT ALL. They're skins on items, emotes, and clothing. I'm actually sitting on almost 800 Atoms right now wishing they'd add more stuff because I want something else to buy. Not entirely impressed with what they have now. My friends and I are having a blast in the game. And we feel like there is so much potential for post launch. ... show more

  • A must have for Fallout Fans who WANTD CoOp & PvP
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
So, I waited to buy this game until recently. I've watch it being played on YouTube for 50+ hours. I started playing Fallout with FO3, New Vegas, 4, and now FO4. Yes, there are many glitches and they are quite annoying. They are not the typical freeze and graphical glitches from the previous Fallout games. The glitch that has bothered me the most has to do with communicating with other players. I am unable to hear anyone talk unless I add them as a friend and do a Party Invite. I even had an issue where I could hear someone prior to adding them to a team,, but once adding them to my team I could no longer hear them unless I unjoin the team. If this is a CoOp/PvP game, communication is important. However, there is a work around until they fix this. I have not had server issues like others have complained about. I have had my game freeze a few times, but it went away without having to do anything on my end but wait a few seconds. Yes, if you buy the DISC, you will be downloading nearly 100 GB worth of updates and it takes a while even with a good connection. The game is otherwise lots of fun if you're into the typical map exploration of other Fallout games. Playing with teams is really a lot of fun. I know they are out there but I haven't run into people who simply want to cause trouble for others. I've actually met a lot of people who are of high levels looking to help low level people. No, there are no NPC's or companions. It's not as big of a deal as I thought it would be. Maybe they will come with DLC, maybe they wont. However, having no NPC's doesn't bother me enough to miss out on playing this game. It is a soft core survival mode, especially in the beginning before you get CAPS and upgrade you charisma perk and can buy items. The new VATS system is not as bothersome as people have made it out to be either. This encourages Melee and learning to simply aim and shoot. I NEVER play first person shooters so the new system has taught me to be better at aiming and shooting. However VATS is there and you can upgrade it to target limbs. If you are interested in playing a new Fallout with other people, or even if you're into exploration of a large Fallout map. Buy this game. It's still cool ... show more
