  • Great tire on Subaru Outback XT Onyx
Man, where do I start? Well, since I added pics, let's start with appearance. The first pic is one of the stock Yokohama Avid GTs. Is that pathetic or what? The second is the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail. They look great! Wimp to Pimp. 'Nuff said. But these tires aren't just lookers. They perform! This is our first SUV, so I really didn't have many thoughts on the stock tires. The car rode and handled pretty darn well. At least to someone new to these vehicles. Then I started reading posts on the SubaruOutback.org forums and learning about the shortcomings of the stock tire. Oh my. So I started looking for something more suitable, and finally settled on the Falkens. I'm really glad I did! By its nature as an all-terrain tire, anyone can tell this is going to be a much better tire off-road than the stock touring tires. But I was really surprised to read about the on-road performance and then experience it for myself. The Falkens have a stiffer sidewall and a superior rubber compound to the Yokos. So they handle better than the stock tires by a noticeable degree, and are better on wet pavement. Confidence levels in both areas is much improved. And all without any detriment to ride comfort or noise levels that I could tell. (And I am VERY noise sensitive.) Also, STL just had 7-8 inches of snow, so I can now speak on that. Can you say, "total non-issue"? I was grinning like a fool. In sum, and as a bit of a tire snob, I REALLY like these tires. I think is likely the perfect all-around tire for the Subaru Outback. If you go far off-road, you might want a tire more focused in that direction. If you live in the mountains or the snow belt, you might want a dedicated winter tire. But for everyone else... just get this tire and relax, knowing you're covered. (As a side note: none of these comments should be taken as a knock on Yokohama as company. They make some great tires. In fact, before the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail came out, I would have have chosen the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 for our car. But for reasons beyond my comprehension, and like most large tire manufacturers, they make substandard O.E. tires so car companies can save a couple of bucks. Very shortsighted, IMO. If I didn't know anything about Yokohama other than my experience with the stock tires, I'd never buy another one of their tires. Shame on the entire industry for this practice. At best, it's a disservice to their customers. At worst, it's downright dangerous. Rant over.) ... show more

  • First CUV all terrain tire
This is the first all terrain tire to be manufactured for CUV vehicles. I was looking for a tire for my Outback that would perform better on all surface types, as I love finding unpaved areas to explore when I travel. I found these Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires, which have a very aggressive looking sidewall that drew my attention. I know looks don't matter when it comes to performance, but these look really cool with the raised 3D lettering on the sidewall. Note: the raised lettering is on a single side of each tire, so you have the option to have them show on the outside, or hide the 3D letters on the inside of your wheels. I had these installed in the middle of a snowstorm because I wanted to try them out and compare them to my winter tires. I didn't expect these to stand up to a set of winter tires, and they certainly don't. My ABS kicked in with moderate braking, but they still perform admirably in the snow. I'll use these tires for the rest of the winter season, but next year I'll go back to using my dedicated winter tires. The softer compound and extra sipes you get from a true winter tire will always outperform anything all season or all terrain. The cornering and steering response of these tires is fantastic. Winter tires always have some more flex while cornering, so I was very impressed with how stable these felt around the curves. I'm also less worried about potholes damaging these since the extra sidewall protection should help. I didn't notice any excess noise at any given driving speed with these Falken's. That also likely depends on the tire size and vehicle type you own. I can't comment on gas mileage as there's far too many factors involved in average MPG, and since it's currently winter my MPG drops significantly in my Subaru during the cold weather months. I'll update my review this spring once I've had more time with these tires, and in warmer weather. So far I really like them. If you're looking for an all purpose tire that you want to get you through all four seasons this will certainly get the job done. It won't replace a dedicated winter tire though. I'll still swap out for the winter season, but these will perform fantastic for spring, summer, and fall. ... show more

  • If you’re looking for all terrain tires for your crossover, go with these!
Was looking for all terrain tires for my Cherokee. Not many on the market in my wheel size (225/60 R18) ended up going with these because I’ve always heard good things about Falken. I’m so glad I went with these! Was worried about the noise level. These ride ALMOST as quiet & smooth as the continentals I had. The look of them are aggressive and have taken them in moderate terrain in the areas I fish & hike. So far so good. Only thing to complain about is losing a few miles per gallon. But the trade off is totally worth it. Highly recommend if this is the route you want to go with your tires! ... show more

  • Excellent tires
These Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail (225/60R18) are great tires on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee! They’ll get me through our tough winters as well as my camping/road trips all year round. Great all-in-one value, and they look really cool too.

  • Fast shipping!
It came within a week! As soon as it arrives, went to a local tire shop and have it installed. Fits perfectly with my 2020 Subaru Forester sport without any lift, runs very smoothly, no rubbing and it looks great!

  • They are an around good tire.
I have the same brand tire on my truck with 25k on them and they still have a lot of tread left. If I had to guess how much tread was left I would say probably around 60-70%. So I decided to buy them for my jeep. Factor tires on my jeep didn’t even last 20k.
