  • A great investment for safety and reliability. I’m using it on 19 Forester
Size: 225/60R17
Quality: Great tires I have 40,000 miles on them. I purchased them in 2022. I mounted and balanced them myself and that sidewall is thick and stout. Definitely good against sidewall punctures. My batch of 4 tires were well manufactured, it balanced out well without excessive weight. Smooth ride: Nice ride for a tire with aggressive tread pattern. The side wall is still flexible enough to give the car a reasonable amount of comfort. Longevity: I have 40,000 miles on them, showing signs of light dry rotting but nothing to concerning, it’s 3 years old now with 40k. I haven’t excessive noticed road noise yet. Grip: Great in the snow, made my forester into a little rally car in ohio’s snowy roads. Was able to travel in very bad conditions due to how well these had traction. Haven’t made it to year 3 winter yet. ... show more

  • Excellent mix of on/off road + 2 year update
Size: 225/65R17
So I have put these tires through the test mostly so far on both highway and 4x4 roads. I can't wait to try em out in winter! Anyways, I have a 2012 Rav4 that I take on moderate 4x4 roads here in CO so figured I would get a tire that did well on/off road, but I don't need a full on A/T because let's be honest, the Rav is not a true off roader (hey I take it on trails that the next least capable vehicle is a Grand Cherokee, so with the right skills, it does well). Anyways, the tire has kept my mpg the exact same. It has also gotten me up stuff that would be consider light rock crawling without slipping once even when the rock was wet. It has taken plenty of sidewall hits and no issues yet. Just as much road noise on the highway as my regular all seasons. They would likely do great on sand, only ok in mud and deep snow (better than regular all seasons for sure), and they are plenty soft to do great on everything else. Love em so far. The only gripe I have is that the treadlife is no good so far. I have not changed out my suspension in forever so perhaps worn suspension or the way I drive contribute to the fast treadwear, but they have worn 2/32" in only 4500 miles. That means I may only get nearly 20k miles out of them. Not sure if that is accurate or if it is due to other factors, but for a tire with a 55k mile warranty, that is pretty sad. They are as soft as my winter tires so I assumed they will be great in winter, but that softness definitely will contribute to the decreased tire life. Overall, they have exceeded my expectations greatly so far! I highly recommend as most say the treadwear I am experiencing for them is abnormal. 2 year update: So I still love these tires and mostly everything in my initial review is still accurate. i have been rotating them normally with my spare as well and they still seem like they will only last to about 40k miles is the update on that, but once again, I like to replace at 3/32" or even 4/32" because of where I take em. So if you are the one who wears em down to the metal, then sure, they will last 50k+ miles. Either way, I love em enought o get them again when I need to. I have used them extensively on snow and ice now and can confirm for me at least that they have done very well on ice up until about 6/32" then they start to degrade pretty fast on ice and they have done great in light snow up to that point as well and deep wet snow they aren't so great in like most tires aside from mud tires so that is to be expected. I have had them in deeper mud and they did surprisingly well and perhaps it was just my Rav4's limitations that caused any sort of slippage. With a true 4x4, it would have gone even better. I still highly recommend these if you are looking to spend the majority of your time on the highway, but occasionally find yourself on moderate off road trails or in snow and ice. They are a great all around tire that isn't excellent in one specific category, but as good of an all around tire as you will find. ... show more

  • Great tire on Subaru Outback XT Onyx
Size: 225/60R18
Man, where do I start? Well, since I added pics, let's start with appearance. The first pic is one of the stock Yokohama Avid GTs. Is that pathetic or what? The second is the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail. They look great! Wimp to Pimp. 'Nuff said. But these tires aren't just lookers. They perform! This is our first SUV, so I really didn't have many thoughts on the stock tires. The car rode and handled pretty darn well. At least to someone new to these vehicles. Then I started reading posts on the SubaruOutback.org forums and learning about the shortcomings of the stock tire. Oh my. So I started looking for something more suitable, and finally settled on the Falkens. I'm really glad I did! By its nature as an all-terrain tire, anyone can tell this is going to be a much better tire off-road than the stock touring tires. But I was really surprised to read about the on-road performance and then experience it for myself. The Falkens have a stiffer sidewall and a superior rubber compound to the Yokos. So they handle better than the stock tires by a noticeable degree, and are better on wet pavement. Confidence levels in both areas is much improved. And all without any detriment to ride comfort or noise levels that I could tell. (And I am VERY noise sensitive.) Also, STL just had 7-8 inches of snow, so I can now speak on that. Can you say, "total non-issue"? I was grinning like a fool. In sum, and as a bit of a tire snob, I REALLY like these tires. I think is likely the perfect all-around tire for the Subaru Outback. If you go far off-road, you might want a tire more focused in that direction. If you live in the mountains or the snow belt, you might want a dedicated winter tire. But for everyone else... just get this tire and relax, knowing you're covered. (As a side note: none of these comments should be taken as a knock on Yokohama as company. They make some great tires. In fact, before the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail came out, I would have have chosen the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 for our car. But for reasons beyond my comprehension, and like most large tire manufacturers, they make substandard O.E. tires so car companies can save a couple of bucks. Very shortsighted, IMO. If I didn't know anything about Yokohama other than my experience with the stock tires, I'd never buy another one of their tires. Shame on the entire industry for this practice. At best, it's a disservice to their customers. At worst, it's downright dangerous. Rant over.) ... show more

  • Very Satisfied Buyer
Size: 225/65R17
This is my first ever review. Im so impressed with these tires. Great traction, low road noise. Best tires I have bought in 40 years. I researched tires for 4 months for my all wheel drive Nissian Rogue. I was getting stuck everywhere prior to buying these- loose gravel snow etc but not anymore. Highly recommended well worth the price. Been running them up and down a gravel road daily for just under a year and still look brand new with no tread wear. Great purchase! ... show more

  • Not just for crossover SUV's
Size: 215/65R16
So far these are turning out to be a good tire. I stuck 4 of these on a Chevy Cruze to replaced worn out "street tires" and they fit well. No clearance issues. At least these have a broken up tread pattern to move water, snow, and light mud from the tread. Time will tell if they hold up to the 65K wear warranty. ... show more
