Description

Fabric is the hot new saddle brand on the market, thanks to their amazing mix of comfort, performance, and unique construction. The Scoop Elite is designed as a multi-discipline saddle that's as at home on the roads as it is on gravel or out on the trail. No matter where you want to take your bike, the Scoop can comfortably get you there. That's because the Scoop is all about versatility. Not only is it built incredibly strong, with Fabric's three-part saddle building process, but it also comes in three different shapes to fit every body type and style of riding imaginable. The Scoop is tuned for flexibility, thanks to its lightweight nylon base. The solid chromoly rails are lightweight, but provide a solid, durable interface for the saddle that helps dampen vibration coming up the seatpost and can stand up to gravel and trail riding. The waterproof microfiber cover stands up to years of hard use. The biggest story with the Scoop Elite though is the different saddle shapes. For more flexible riders who like to shift around on the saddle, the flat option is probably the way to go. For Less flexible, more powerful riders, the radius may provide more support, while the shallow shape provides a nice in between option. Of course, it will all depend on your personal preferences, and how you like your saddle to feel. But isn't it always nice to have options? Choose flat, shallow, or radius shapes Flexible nylon shell for all day comfort Chromoly rails optimize durability Weather-proof microcover cover stands up to years of hard use 142mm x 282 266g

  • Several models to choose based on your position. IMO the best saddles you can buy for comfort.
Look carefully at the manufacturer's web site. It's about how upright you sit on the bike. I also have this saddle in the Shallow shape on another bike. That actually works better for me. IMO the scoop is probably more suited for you if your bars are even with your seat height or higher. (the flat is probably wrong for you unless you are mostly in the drops) The Fabric saddles IMHO are the best for long ride comfort. Instead of complicated shapes to remove pressure points these saddles are gently and gradually shaped to best allow you to move around naturally over the course of a ride, and not create an area that is sensitive to pressure. It's just common sense. Ask double century riders. A lot of them use Fabric saddles for just this reason. Some of the fancy "ergonomic" shapes out there are just relocating your pain. The Fabric design is about making it go away. ... show more

  • Awesome saddle.
Like every saddle, unfortunately you have to look and try and use what works for you. Prior to the Fabric (Radius), I had 3, if you count the stock saddle that came with my bike. The second and third was the "gel" type (Bontrager then Ergon) and unfortunately it was just a pain in the ass literally. I read reviews about the Ergon SMC4 and although they where great, it just didn't work out for me. I was on the search again and I was down to two, the WTB Volt Comp and the Fabric. I read on MTBr? that the Radius model was best for trail riding and based on their recommendation and my own research/readings, I decided to give the Fabric a try. When the saddle arrive, the first thing that stood out and also as an initial concern was how narrow it was compared to my previous saddles. It is light, the seat is smooth and plain and no "perforations or textures" where mud/dirt can just get stuck and then dry out so it is really super easy to clean. Cushion or softness, compared to my previous Ergon and Bontrager, it appears and feels it has the least amount of padding. So I put it on my seat post, adjust my level preference and height and hit my local trail and then all of a sudden I became I believer. All the reviews, the so called "flexing" of the seat, etc., etc., this saddle is just awesome! (I made sure I wore my usual chamois and shorts just for the sake of consistency). Possibly because of the decrease in width, smoothness of texture and shape , it feels I can move around better, pedal much better sitting down or standing up (strangely found myself pedaling more standing up for more power during climbs and to get speed) and most of all, very minimal to no pinching or pressure points. And what's amazing thing about this saddle is how slim and sleek it is. Now I know from previous experience that these are all subjective and may not apply to everyone, especially that riders come in different shapes and sizes and plus the fact that the saddle itself comes in three different shapes. But still I highly recommend to give this Fabric saddle a try. ... show more

  • Comfortable Enough
I broke my tailbone in high school, and I've never sat correctly ever since. A lot of proper solutions would lead me to buy a much more expensive saddle or some other product to help with the pain. It's a definite step up from the default saddle my Fuji Absolute came with. It's all about how everything is molded together, and how the saddle flexes while you ride. If I miss a pothole or crack in the street, it's nowhere near as painful as it once was. However, I don't think it will ultimately solve my personal problem though. If you're looking for a flexible, but firm, saddle, and I bought the Radius option since I ride a commuter bike, you should really consider this saddle as an option! ... show more

  • I WAS A BIT LEERY ...
... of the rave reviews this seat has garnered, but I'm happy to add to those numbers! My little-used, 22-year old bike needed updating. New tires and tubes, grips and a modern suspension seat post laid the basis of the transformation; this seat topped it off. The old seat was plush, heavy and surprisingly uncomfortable. This Radius model fits my sits bones well and I find my rides getter longer! Comfort, of course, is a relative concept, but I think a lack of pain and chafing goes a long way toward defining it! The fact the seat weighs so little (72% less than the old seat) is a nice bonus! ... show more

  • Shape works
Bought this to replace an aging saddle on a 1995 Trek OCLV 5000. I was expecting to search much longer as comfort has become a priority as I get older. I didn’t think the Fabric radius seat would work being what I consider a minimalist design with firm padding, I was pleasantly surprised to find the saddle comfortable on my 20 mile rides. The more I ride it the better I like it. This is not Cloud 9 comfort but pretty close with the added benefit of being able to move easily on this saddle without feeling like you’re sitting on a marshmallow. Beautiful shape. ... show more

  • Comfortable but developed creak after 6 months of riding
I decided to try this saddle on my road bike and thought it was great from the start - perfect fit for my butt. I used this for six months with the bike on the trainer and then doing a ride every week or two over the summer and recently started noticing a creak while pedaling. It is coming from the spot where the seat rail joins the plastic part of the bottom of the saddle. I can visibly see the rail move when pressing up and down on the saddle. Great saddle but terrible quality. Will be looking for a replacement. ... show more

  • Nicely contoured
Very nicely contoured saddle. It took no time at all to get used to; just bolted it onto my commuter bike and rode to work and back, day in, day out. It isn't the lightest saddle you will find on the market but of course ultra-light carbon promises zero comfort. The Radius lets your sit-bones settle very nicely in its curvature and, being long and thin in the nose, it doesn't rub annoyingly between your thighs. Unlike many others, it is very carefully shaped so it never cuts into muscle tissue from any angle and in any position. One of the very, very best saddles I have ever had. ... show more
