  • Strong, light, and simple to build with, tight fit
I used three sets of these brackets to build a two-story 12x16 shed. The brackets were easy to assemble, especially using the miter guide. They provided a great amount of structural support and were strong enough to withstand the stress of me setting up the trusses myself, by hand. Like other users have pointed out, the way these brackets are packaged bend the flanges of the brackets out of shape. I made the mistake of not heeding other buyers warnings and assembled the trusses as they came out of the box. I had significant issues with the fitment of the 2x4s into the center slot. Much time was spent hammering it into place as the fit was so tight trying to get a 16 ft 2x4 into 12 consecutive trusses. I planed a few of the 2x4s down an 1/8th inch which helped quite bit with the fitment but I highly recommend spending some time to bend the bracket flanges into 80-90ish degree angles before building your structure. It will save your shoulder a lot of muscle ache. ... show more

  • Very nice product with one MAJOR flaw
I bought 3 of these in early 2022, to build the large shed. I actually built 10x20, and put a door in the side. I used all the uprights, and reduced the spacing in the middle. I used sheet metal siding instead of wood. It is so tall, I had room to put plywood on top of the horizontal "C" braces for a loft for lighter items. First, the flaw. I did not find the brackets flimsy at all, as other reviews say. Quite the opposite, I was able to build all the uprights myself and turn them over without help (tips below). But, as good as they are, they are harmed by the packaging. They are pressed together one inside the other to fit in a small box. This bends all bent parts out of position. The slot for the 2x4 beam has 2 side flanges that are bent so a 2x4 won't fit. You will want to spend a lot of time bending these back into shape, especially the pointy parts. If you don't get this right, you will spend a lot of time with a hammer trying to pound the 2x4s into place. I used a planer to take more than 1/8" off the 2x4, and they were still snug in a couple places. I have no Idea how they could be packaged without creating this problem. But if you don't address it before assembly, it will be a big problem. Tips: Bend those brackets into shape before doing anything else. I built the uprights in 2 halfs, a B, an AL, and an AU. Then I laid out 2 halfs side by side and put 1 bracket on each one. Then I flipped one over and lined them up. I put screws in the other half of the top bracket, and nailed on the cross beam C. Then I could pick up the bracket by the brace and turn it over. (You'll need to be 7 feet tall to do that part by yourself.) 6 more screws and that upright is ready to set up. I assembled the uprights on the floor of the shed. I built one and then stood it up. I held the first few in position with stringers, 1x2x8". I got by with 2, but 6 or 8 would be better. Be careful when you get 5 or 6 done, you won't have room on the remaining floor. So I did final assembly on the last 6 and set them all aside, then set them in place one at a time. I did not build the door frame until after all the uprights were in place. I used all full uprights, and cut the ones I needed to the size of the door. I built the header, and set it on top of the portion of the "B" pieces I cut out, which I shortened to the correct length and attached to the adjacent uprights. Good luck and happy building. ... show more

  • Structurally sound build, great for a DIY or the small toolset type
Coming from conventional US construction to these, took a bit of a learning curve to assemble. Not because they are complicated (because they are not) but because things can get a bit flimsy while assembling the back side or second half of each joint. I realize it is probably cheaper to cut the brackets in separate pieces but it may make it more consumer friendly to make each joint one solid “slip on” piece. Outside of that they are a joy to build with and the buildings come out very solid for being 2x4 structures. Wood prices in the US being the way they are now these were a perfect way to use the pile of small lumber I had laying around.. Would not buy them for every build but for a DIY king or someone with minimal tools..Highly recommended ... show more

  • "EZ" is misleading
I bought 2 kits and had help building a shed. Luckily, the person helping me knew what they were doing. Do not attempt this if you have no prior construction experience. The book that came with the kits is very confusing. All wood measurements for all 3 buildings are listed, the directions are unclear on many parts, and the text is so small that it's very easy to misread and have a measurement incorrect. More tools are needed than the book portrays. Many angle cuts have to be made. Good luck if you buy this. ... show more

  • In a perfect world this kid would work perfectly
I bought two kits for a 8x14 shed If your 2x4s are bowed or twisted it throws the whole kit off at the lumber yard I try to look for the straightest lumber I can You need to follow a very strict tolerances of cutting the angle and exact length can't be off by 16th It's hard to jam a 2x4 in the brackets by themselves but when you have put a 14-footer in there it's impossible I had to cut them down to an inch and a quarter just to make them fit with a sledgehammer ... show more

  • Worst Directions Ever!
I wanted to like this product. I have a lot of framing experience. It would have been so much easier to do a traditional framing technique than to have used this kit. The concept is great! the company execution is so poor! The instructions are so lousy. why now directions for each sized kit? Why is the font so small? the concept of this kit is great but do yourself a favor and but a different product!! ... show more

  • The important thing to know is you need to take your time…
I’ve read several reviews on this product and people complain about it being to hard or to complicated and that it’s a waste of time and money ..the thing about this kit is you need to take your time and enjoy the build I absolutely loved putting it together and I’m kinda sad that it’s coming to an end….anyone can go buy a prebuilt shed and bam you’re done but their is something special and manly when you build it yourself…. ... show more

  • Make shed building easy.
Found the material to be very easy to handle and use. The instructions could be better written. But I did change the design some. I built a 10x12 and raised the side walls to 93" so my peak is about 149". I will be building a loft for woodworking storage .
