I have the mechanical skills of your normal 2 year old. Yet, after 24 months, it's still together, nestled up against the threshold, sitting on a non skid mat, directly exposed to the elements. Purchasing this for a different dwelling. For safety, follow the well written instructions and install with screws into the plate.

The trick on this one is assembly. There's very little to assemble you just like one piece into the other piece and then insert a screw. However the screw is extremely hard to get all the way in. It goes in halfway comfortably and then you have to really force it in the rest of the way feeling like this is really the wrong screw for this hole but it isn't it goes in just keep working at it. Then after that when screws are flush with the metal you can install it wherever you'd like and it works well I might reinforce it with some duct tape on the bottom. It works well when it stays in place because we have duct tape it went to the floor to prevent slipping it has no rubber underneath to prevent slipping that would have been a nice feature. This is your bottom of the line easiest to put together ramp if you just need one to get that wheelchair over that front door bump and we did. It works fine. Just don't get upset about how the screws won't screw in all the way and call customer service. I did. They told me to try harder. What do you think about that customer service? Haha well I'm glad we have it and it's working well for my father's chair.

Looks like a very nice 3 pc ramp. I now have to get it cut down to just over 30 inches wide to fit our back outside door. It would be nice if you had 2 sizes in width, 1 about30 inches wide and another about 35 inches to fit most door sashes right out of the box. Just a thought.

I ALWAYS select Prime items incase I need to return them- this says it’s a Prime item which I THOUGHT meant free shipping & returns, evidently not. I ordered this for my front door threshold. I received it quickly, it was packaged well- I’d considered it frustration free but still VERY secure, which is a rare combination- usually it’s one or the other. I put it together before I even noticed the instructions, so it’s very easy to put together. Very solid and adaptable. Unfortunately my storm door won’t close with it which surprised me because the lip isn’t thick at all. I went to fill in the return after looking hopefully for something from the same company that might accommodate my needs but couldn’t find anything. The returns page says to contact the manufacturer- which I did. The young lady I spoke to was very helpful, and apologetic that Amazon has it setup that way as the money doesn’t go to them and the returned items don’t even come to them. I called the number she provided got an automated system that sent me a return link that yet again took me to the manufacturer information. This is a GREAT product, I’m very impressed with everything about it but if you have a storm door know upfront it might not work with your door. And if it doesn’t work you can’t return it despite it saying it’s a Prime item. If you don’t have a storm door you will not regret this purchase.

Before getting home from the hospital, I had to make some investments for my home in order to make things a bit more wheelchair and walker accessible. (Thank you covid for doing whatever you've done to me in the long-run and ruining my life.) That being said, we needed a lift for the front of the house. The combination of Stair steps (which I got a larger ramp for) and the lip in the door would prove to be an issue. The setup for this seemed fairly easy, but I was watching and not actually doing. That being said, I had more concern about the larger one being safe than this little guy. First time coming home, while my boyfriend is pulling me into the house, the larger one held great and the small one slipped. However, I'm not entirely sure what change he made, but it hasn't been an issue since. I have been able to get in and out multiple times without it slipping again. Still, I'm cautious with it. I reccomend you are too.

I bought two pair of these, one for my parents, one for my husband‘s parents. These absolutely come in clutch with being able to get the parents in and out of the house and with them being stainless steel they held it very well.
