I liked this pfd, light weight, not cumbersome and fairly comfortable to wear. I can attest that it definitely works but not as I was expecting! After landing my kayak I took the device off and placed it in the open storage area at the back of the kayak, when I pulled the kayak further up the ramp some water lying in the storage area contacted the life vest and activated it so now I have to purchase a new gas cylinder without feeling that I ever used it! So yes buy with confidence but be careful where you put it. ... show more

While fishing I’ve lost my balance and fell from the boat. The vest inflated as designed and kept me afloat. The outcome could have been very different had I not been wearing it. Initially I bought it for its-unobtrusive fit. Now I see it as the life saving device it was designed to be.

It inflated automatically when wet. I didn't know the difference, that was my fault for not knowing. Easy to convert to manual. Watched video online.

This was a Christmas present so it's winter-time. I've tried it on and it is light weight, easy to put on, and will be comfortable to wear long hours in the boat. Looking forward to warmer weather.

So you read about these people that died when they hit something and flipped their boat out fishing, but you can't really wear a regular PFD all day fishing, especially when you need it the most, winter.
