  • DURABLE! Clear, comfortable, stylish, good value!
Color: 5 Pairs Mix Magnification Strength: 2.5 x
Smart styling, lightweight, comfortable with no sharp “ouch-ies" on the nose piece. Lenses seem accurate with little or no distortion. I can read the fine print on OTC medications with these. That’s handy since the evening news routinely gives me migraines. I also like the cloth cases... a nice extra touch! After having these for a while, I can attest they are durable!. A single "night-time" pair by my bed has passed the "fall asleep reading" test hundreds of times. That's impressive considering the sheer mass of my noggin and getting buried under the forty-four pillows my wife needs. I'm not complaining about my dear beloved, …the delicate flower. Those pillows protect me from her extraordinarily violent hypnogogic jerks. I'm pretty sure she has recurring dreams of fighting dragons with Brazilian kick-boxing. Those pillows have prevented a broken nose more than once and on numerous occasions have saved the family jewels. Most other glasses I’ve tried are OK for reading, but few have survived such a hostile environment as “battlefield bed.” The other "spare pair" has survived months in the abyss of my car's center console; A dark place where masses of coins and odd machine bolts rattle as I dodge potholes. Our local street department leaves gaping caverns on all thoroughfares to prevent us falling asleep. It’s part of their campaign to improve driver awareness by making every street an obstacle course. I am one of those archaic people who still uses maps. I have to because the GPS guidance in my Honda is so screwy! It doesn’t recognize roads that have existed for half-a-century in my home town. On a trip to Baltimore, it tried to take us toward Pensacola. Without a map and these reliable glasses, we might now be on the oily bottom of the Gulf. Another pair stays by the piano for reading music. Sadly gone are the days when I could sightread fly-droppings from across the room! When our niece visits to torture me with her amazing lack of rhythm, she also shows a penchant for sitting on my glasses, or throwing them IN the piano! (She likes the sound they make… no, I’m not kidding.) Other time she seems to enjoy dropping them beneath the piano bench where merry maids quality test them with their industrial-strength vacuum. Despite bouncing around on piano strings, compression of a squirming pre-teen buttock and being swallowed whole by the world’s noisiest vacuum, they haven’t broken! So... yeah, these have held up very well where scores of other glasses have met untimely demise. One pair got scratched by flying hot metal from an angle grinder. Other than that, the remaining pairs are still like new! I got fast service from this seller too. A-OK! ... show more

  • Reasonably durable, good optical quality
Color: 5 Pairs Mix Magnification Strength: 2.0 x
tldr: I really like these and would buy them again. I used to buy the 4-pack (really 3 and a useless pair) of Foster Grant readers in our local big box warehouse store for $20, but soured on them due to their increasingly flimsy construction. They used to be good long ago, but in recent years a pair of those would break within a month or two. So I took a chance on these from Amazon due to the positive reviews. The first pair finally broke at the stem hinge after 7 1/2 months of daily use. I use them all day when working, then I read in bed before going to sleep while laying on my side. The stem that got pressed against my pillow is the one that broke. Perhaps if I did not have this habit they might have lasted even longer. As far as optics go, I cannot detect any signs of distortion or waviness as I move my head around. This first pair was dropped many times, mostly on hardwood floors but occasionally on concrete, and did not get a single scratch. For an inexpensive reader the durability of the lenses is impressive. Here in the hot and humid South body oils and salt from sweat is a constant. I did not have any issues with corrosion or the finish coming off. I normally wash my glasses with soap and water every day so that might have helped. I see a few other reviews mention the frames breaking. If that happens to me I'll update this review. **Update 1 Feb 2022: The second pair broke after 9 1/2 months of use. I was trying to adjust the nose pieces, as I have to do every few months, and one of the clear plastic pads broke off. I remain very happy with the durability and optics of these glasses and will buy them again when needed (or perhaps a different style from the same company). ... show more

  • Strong, sturdy!

I was looking for metal frame reader glasses. These are nearly perfect. Lens are clear, easy to clean and the metal frames are sturdy. I will buy these again.

  • Great glasses, great value
Color: 5 Pairs Gunmetal Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
These are really great glasses for the money. I like to keep pairs scattered all over and the fact that they are 5 for $20 means I can saturate the house, office, SUV, and work shop w/ pairs so I never have to look to far to find some. The wire frame looks good, and the temples are spring loaded and forgiving in rough use. The lenses are very good optically - no distortion at the edges, no issues w/ scratching, and the blue-blocking softens bright computer screens. Other brands may be better, but at this price point you can't beat them. ... show more

  • Good Quality at a Good Price
Color: 5 Pairs Mix Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
I've been using these glasses for six months and I like them so much I bought more last week. Now I have plenty; so, when I misplace a pair, another pair isn't hard to find.

  • Good semi-disposable reading glasses
Color: 5 Pairs Mix Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
This is the third set of 5 that I have bought. The quality seems to be identical each time, so I reorder after I have lost or broken them down to a couple of pairs remaining. I tend to break them all at the Left temple arm hinge-- actually the spring loaded hinge on the temple. So the glasses frame is still perfect except missing the left temple. Ah, well, I've looked for replacement temples, but they're as expensive as buying a new set of 5 glasses. These are really excellent quality as far as comfort, clarity, scratch resistance, etc. And they last long enough for the price-- I've broken 3 in about 18 months time. lasts much longer than the plastic frame ones I've tried-- those break at the plastic frame and drop the lenses, but these are still usable even if you have to hold them with one hand to use. Fwiw, I'll be buying these as long as they're available and the price maintains. ... show more

Clear, well made and shipped almost on time. The protective blue lens was new to us but it works.
