The media could not be loaded. So I just received this item today. I have to say that the installation part of it was a little bit frustrating, however the video on YouTube was a huge help. So far I've been using this for roughly an hour and so far so good. I like that you can have all the colors on an interval setup. Or if you want you can make each individual section all a different color. IE: The D-pad can be blue and the the other buttons can be green if that's how you want it. I currently have it set up so all buttons change colors. I think that for the price it doesn't get much better than this. Now I did install them in an original Sony controller. So I am not sure if they will work properly in say a 3rd party controller. I'd definitely recommend this product. Everything came nicely package and it also came with extra screws as well. And of course all of the tools needed to dismantle your controller and install the lights are included. If you use the YouTube video to help you, you may notice a few things. 1. The setup in the video shows extra wires attached to the joysticks. The kit I received did not have the extra wire but it still works as described. 2. In the video you will be recommended to use double sided tape on a certain section, I however did not have double sided tape so I used regular scotch tape and it worked without an issue. π Update: So I'm changing this rating from a 5 star to 3 because I've had this item for 3 days before the right analog lights went out. I've taken the controller apart and tried moving wires and to no luck did this solve my issue. The other lights are still working so I guess it is what it is. π

If you installed the kit, the lights blink once after connecting the battery, and will not come on again, but your controller still works (which seems to be rather common), then I've got the solution. Let me start by saying that while I do like the LED kit, there is one major flaw, that no one addressees ANYWHERE. Not in the instruction booklet, no YouTube video, not even the manufacturer's website. ANSWER: So after installing the black ribbon cable to the charging, logic would tell you that when you plug the 2 ends into the controller board, and into the LED's themselves, that the ribbon cables should lay flat, right?...WRONG. I've gotten TWO now, and BOTH have required me to flip the cables before inserting them, in order for it to function properly. But now you've got 2 twisted ribbon cables inside of a controller, that's already limited on space. Definitely not the greatest design I've ever seen. It's seems as though it would be an easy fix too, or AT LEAST someone would mention that the ribbon cables ARE DIRECTIONAL. But outside of that, it's a really cool mod. Hopefully this helps someone! Great product, but poor design. It looked really cool and nice at first once I got it all hooked up and connected, but a button was sticking from the kit. So I went to take it all apart to try to fix the button and well the one connector broke on the side led kit broke where connect the ribbon cable to. Really disappointed in the poor design and with how easily that connector broke. Even after being as careful as I could be the little part that you flip onto of the ribbon cable broke off. Thought well i can hot glue the connection in place. Well a as econd latter the lights cut out. So idk what happened but the connector is toast and I'm really upset about it. Updated review: After upon receiving my first board, the connector broke, but I reached out to the company as well as the company did to me upon seeing my review of the board connector breaking on me. They sent me a replacement board for free. Now my controller works with lights. They seem to be a little buggy like they change colors on me the analog stick ones do. When I use them, but not a big deal. Maybe a wire is touching the board i didnt see, but still works.

My PS5 mode was a piece of cake compared to my stepson's PS4 controller. This flex had the small connectors for installing the cable. Unfortunately, one of the connectors popped off and flew into the abyss. I tried looking for it but it's the size of a grain of rice. I can get the LEDs to light up but the controller does not function at all. Guess he'll just have a clear front instead of a light up controller as well. Just beware of small connectors.

It's a very good looking product but I did have an issue with my last Installment, one of the cables broke while plugging it into my controller, but for next time buyers just be a bit careful with the Installment because it will break if handled roughly otherwise, it's an amazing product

I have ordered and installed 4 of these kits with a 50% success rate. The first time all of the areas lit up but some of my buttons didn't work so I had to open the controller back up and try to reinstall the kit better. After that I could only get half the areas to light up despite installing it exactly as instructed. I figure I must have broken something reinstalling the kit the 2nd time. The 2nd and 3rd time I installed this kind of kit in controllers they both worked perfectly and I was pleased with the product. The 4th time I used this kit I tried to use it with another product from this company and create a controller with 4 back buttons that also lit up. That went very badly. Despite installing both kits perfectly and getting the controller to light up for a minute or two the controller then went dark and was completely shorted out. As it stands the controller is completely dead now.

So on the first day trying to assemble this kit, I broke one controller, because I forgot one step , so that was on me but on the second controller I did succeed but I ended up bending the black strip thing on accident and it detached and broke apart, so reading this review be careful, it can kinda break easily, I wish I could get a replacement though.
