I was originally hesitant to order because I thought I was gonna she. To completely disassemble my controller, but upon opening the packaging and scanning the provided QR code to instructions I saw it was super simple. The tool provided does it's job assisting in removing the original piece on the controller. The rings around the joy sticks were a little tricky installing but the cover itself snapped right into place! It looks great, love the carbon fiber look on my black PS5 controller!

THIS… is eXtremeRate‘s shell replacement for PS5 controllers and it is simply the best shell replacement I have found this far. From an OEM fit to a step by step video guide, you really can’t go wrong here! Please Note - this photo shows 3 shell replacements and not just one - see bottom for details Also note - you will need a heat gun or hair dryer (I used a hair dryer just fine) The shell comes with everything you would need (minus hair dryer), and the instructions also are spectacular. Changing just the front shell? Awesome video for that! Changing the back and the front like I have? Same exact thing! All in all it took me about 35 minutes to completely swap the shells out and only cursed a hand full of times. The only part that sucked was the touchpad and removing the glue but outside of that, it was a breeze! The fitment is spectacular and feels just like or better than OEM. Everything clicks and screws together just fine and I was never left wondering or guessing on the fitment. I have used eXtremeRates shells several times now on both PS5 and Xbox controllers and have had great success every single time, and I think it has really improved the aesthetic of my gaming setup for really a relatively low cost! I’m sure if you give these she’ll cases a chance, you will find that you love them just as much as I do! Yes you will have to take the controller apart, but I promise it is so much easier than you think it will be with their awesome step by step guide! Great product!! Definitely my favorite cosmetic addition to my PS5. Worth every penny. Bought the Grey and white inserts for the sticks separately on here. Can't go wrong with the woodgrain. Installation was almost too easy for all of it. PATIENCE, is all it takes.

I really like the Black Silver “carbon fiber” look on this trim shell over the other carbon fiber option. Looks more realistic to me but something to note; the other option seems to be flowing in the opposite direction (right) as this one flows to the left towards the D-Pad. This may be a deal breaker for some who already have carbon fiber mods on their PS5 or accessories that flow in one direction. The texture of the trim shell is smooth. VERY easy to put on! Took me less than 5 minutes. Snaps in place just like the OEM black cover. No gaps or loose fitment. Just take your time when inserting. Plenty of YouTube videos to watch as a guide. Comes with a pry tool for those who don’t have one to help aide with the removal.
