My husband and I live in a townhome, with limited storage capability. Occasionally we find ourselves getting crafty with organization and storage. We previously bought a U hook wall mounting kayak hanger (set of 2 - meant to wall mount for 1 kayak). This worked great for our need, but next we needed a way to cover our kayaks to keep birds and other elements out of the interior of our kayaks. FIRST: The polyester material of these covers doesn't give much "stretch" to the canvas like material. If you're looking for something with stretch and bounce this probably isn't it. It does however pull nice and tight to cover the cockpit and the material is intended to keep exterior elements out. SECOND: because it's a polyester material it can be punctured and may deteriorate over many years of wear and tear. We needed something that we could puncture a hole in to hang on our hooks. We also knew we didn't want to spend a lot of we were going to out a hole in it. (lil duct tape solves the problem of early fraying LOL). In all: the material is a polyester, canvas like material, which will work well to keep water and other elements out of your kayak. It's pretty easy to put on and remove. If you're looking for something budget friendly that will do the job this is well worth the cost! ... show more

Fits my pelican and perception kayaks. The 3 bungee cords are adjustable allowing loosening or tightening. They are being used to protect kayaks hanging on the fence outside. So far they haven't blown off and keep most things out.

    • Bungee cords running under the boat make it harder to store

I like the versatility of this product, which covers my kayak's cockpit that I couldn't find the right sized cover for, but the fact that it uses bungee cords to secure it and those cords run beneath the kayak makes it difficult to load the boat onto a rack from the end, which is how I have to store mine. Without this drape, I could just slide it by myself, but it takes a second person to do that when the drape is installed - one to lift the kayak over the cross supports so the bungee cords don't get caught as the kayak slides over them and one to push from the end. (If you had a side-loading kayak rack, this cockpit drape would be fine.) I have used this drape to cover the cockpit when I stayed overnight at a beach camp. Installing this product while the kayak is lying on the beach sand is also a little difficult but doable. Bottom line: a fitted cockpit cover works better but this is cheaper and does the job. ... show more

I just put these on and they work! They seem well-made and sturdy enough to last. I have two lake kayaks that are 10' long with 40 inch opening. The price is very reasonable and I expect them to last quite a while. What's my one caveat? The three per kayak bungee cords are strong (not the cheap, weak ones), but a bit awkward to put on for one person. I'll keep the good bungees but will replace them with lashing straps. These be easier to put on, allows picking up kayak from with bottom, and can even be used for transportation. Ironically, I think the good quality of the bungees says a lot about the company and product. ... show more
