Features

  • Ultimate Camping Versatility: The MegaMat stands as the premium self-inflating air mattress for tent and car camping enthusiasts, delivering best-in-class comfort with 4 inches of cored foam that's especially ideal for SUV air mattress setups and side sleepers
  • Premium Insulated Design: This foam camping pad combines high-quality open-cell polyurethane foam with 30% more foam coring, creating an exceptional insulated sleeping pad that excels both on campsite ground and in vehicle setups while preventing "bottoming out."
  • Luxurious Sleep Surface: Unlike basic tent or car mattresses, the MegMat's 100% recycled 4-way stretch tricot polyester fabric creates a soft, cradling camping mattress pad surface, eliminating the scratchy feel common in standard sleeping mat camping options
  • Maximized Comfort Anywhere: Perfect for tent and car camping, the innovative 3D vertical sidewall construction eliminates edge tapering, while the included Top-Up Pump transforms this camping pad for sleeping into your ideal firmness level - add air for more support or release for a softer feel
  • Versatile Transport & Setup: Two welded side handles ensure effortless handling of this foam sleeping pad, while the enhanced foam core allows for faster deflation and a compact packed size, making it the ultimate self-inflating air mattress for both ground and vehicle adventures

  • Best sleeping pad I have ever used! Ideal for car camping in a Subaru Outback.
My husband and I have car camped for years but have never gotten our sleeping set up quite right until we got this sleeping pad. Truly, one of the top investments in gear that we have made recently. We have a Subaru Outback and it fits perfectly. The last trip that we took, + 2 weeks on the road, we slept great every night. Inflation is a breeze with the included pump, taking us only 4-5 min. It is somewhat bulky when packed down. Additionally, when we were camping the pad kept us well insulated. If you are car camping or have a walk up/ drive in camp site this pad will be perfect for you! We have replaced our air mattress at home for guest with this sleeping pad. People are always impressed with how comfortable it is. I wish that we would have gotten this pad a long time ago. Exped has new life long customers ... show more

  • Bulky and expensive, but good.
Size: Medium Wide
About as heavy and comfortable as it gets. This mattress seems built to last and is incredibly comfortable. With one important caveat: it's bulky and heavy. Great for car camping or glamping, but practically useless for hiking and camping, unless you don't mind stealing a comically large mattress to the outside of your bag and you can support an extra 4.5 lbs of gear. For regularl through hiking or extended hiking just buy a regular inflatable and be happy. ... show more

  • Uncomfortable!!!
I wanted to like this sleeping mat. I really wanted to like it. Before I get to the reason I am giving it one star, I want to mention the positives. First of all, it inflates quickly. The materials are high quality. It deflates SUPER easily. The stuff sack is ingenious. So far so good. Until you *attempt* to sleep on it. Now onto the reason I am returning it. I tried it on the ground. I tried it on a cot. I tried it firmly inflated. I tried it with much less air and everything in-between. I could not find a single position or setup where this thing was comfortable. At every point on my body where contact with the mat was made, it creates pressure points! I was really shocked by this. This thing is NOT comfortable at all. It actually hurts to sleep on, and I am a healthy 39 year old guy with no back problems. After about 5 hours or trying to sleep on it, I gave up and my body is sore. And aside from the pressure points, the materials do not breathe at all, and the plastics and vinyl materials feel hot, and not in a good way - more like a suffocating type of hot that makes sleeping impossible. I was very tired when I tested it out for the night and was not able to sleep for a second. My advice - if you are thinking about buying this, go ahead and try it out. Make sure you do so within the 30 day return window. Maybe you'll respond differently to it than I did. But I am going to have to look for something else to take on my year-long overland trip. This mat would make my trip miserable! Hopefully I'll find something with the same quality but with real comfort. ... show more

  • Slight preference for this mattress over the outfitter version.
I purchased both the Megamat outfitter 10LXW and a regular Megamat 10 LXW. I don’t write many reviews, but did for this product because I wanted to answer the questions I felt were poorly answered in my own research. So far, I love the perceived durability and peace of mind of the Outfitter version. The regular version feels softer, more bed-like and the fabric is quieter than the outfitter. We are using them to replace the mattress in our pop up travel trailer and it is going to be a great fit. With the added bonus that we can remove them easily and use them elsewhere. For the record, I am 5’10” and 300 pounds, and the mattress has survived well with myself and my two 7 year old boys, or with myself and the wife crammed on it. I have tried the mattress on a houseboat roof, in front of the TV and on the deck stargazing. By having a separate mat for the wife and myself, we can each adjust to our desired firmness without affecting the other person. I don’t know how they do it, but these do not roll like your typical airbed. I have tried the mattress both firm and soft. Firm requires about 30 pumps with the include pump. The softest I have tried (which seems too limp until you get on) is the fill by opening the valve alone. I was surprised to find that I prefer it on the softer side. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily the mattress can be rolled up to approximately the same tightness as it came from the factory. We watched one video that compared them to a college dorm mattress, that was a poor choice of words and a bad comparison. I would compare these to a regular mattress at home, they are probably as comfortable as a home mattress (including for side or stomach sleeping) or more comfortable due to the adjustability. It is difficult to say which version I prefer, both are excellent, and very comfortable. I suspect the regular version will prove to be adequately durable, so that is probably the version I would buy if there ever were a next time… ... show more
