Update: I've used this drone now 3 times. I have not been able to go beyond 0.3 miles and today while flying it disconnected a 0.3 mile away at 360 feet up. It should have returned home upon disconnect, but it wouldn't move. I had to walk about a good distance towards it before the drone reconnected to the controller and I was able to bring it back. On top of that, nearly all photos I took were glitched with a large horizontal pink blob. I will add one photo to this to show where it took 2 shots from merged them together and stuck a pink line in it. ( I have the recommended SD card to prevent this from happening, and it still happened.) Lastly, the battery life is extremely lacking from the advertisement. After flying for about 20 minutes the low battery comes on, and the controller disconnects and returns home, but when I get it back it still has 3 out of the 4 bars. I will say that it flies very well and maneuvers well, with the exception of above 300 feet. Then yaw, pitch, and roll, all are very slow to react, as well as taking photos. Original unedited post: I waited to purchase during Black Friday sales, and ordered through Amazon mostly due to accumulated points. I was concerned about ordering from Amazon due to several other orders arriving already used and damaged. My EXO drone arrived quickly, in great condition, and already charged. The feel of everything seems of great quality and not cheap plastic. Unfortunately, after inspecting everything I put it away. I have committed to studying for the part 107 test and had my wife hold my new EXO drone "hostage" as motivation to study and pass the exam. I studied and passed the exam and have logged 3 hours of flight time. The drone flies very smoothly. I have been to 400 feet and half a mile in 11 mph winds. The return home was a but slow due to head wind but the x7 Ranger handled very well and the battery life was fantastic. My only downside about purchasing through Amazon was I didn't receive the free Part 107 course nor the 1 year free drone care that was offered on the EXO website. I paid for Pilot Institute and glad I did. I'm very happy with the ordering process and the quality and care of the product. Looking forward to flying again soon. ... show more

    • Well built affordable product that is more than just a flying camera
I have always been interested in drones but the prices have always deterred me from getting one. The ones that were affordable did not have the flight time or capabilities one would want. I saw an ad for this product and immediately started to look and I'm glad I did. It controls well and is not just a flying camera but a fun flying experience. You put this thing into fast mode and it's exactly what I had hoped. If you are in the market for a drone I would highly recommend this product. Not only does it have a great price point but seems to be very sturdy and well made as well as having a setup that is so easy my grandmother could do it. Shipping was very quick. Drone comes with a very nice carry bag with plenty of space for extra batteries and parts. Drone feels solidly made, not cheap flimsy plastic. The quick start video and the feature walk through tutorial videos were very helpful. Recomend watching them a couple of times. And before each flight until you get familar. Getting started went smooth. Gonna take some practice to get to flying loke an ace. Video and photos are awesome quility also. This is a great drone for a beginner like me. ... show more

Charge this baby up and get flying! This was my first drone and it is SO easy to fly! The pictures and video are awesome. Build quality and stability are great. The only downside is batteries take a while to charge and at a 20 minutes flight time is annoying. I recommend the 3 battery option when purchasing. ... show more

    • Stable, predictable flight experience
I purchased the EXO X7 Ranger Plus after a friend showed & demonstrated his X7 Ranger. I considered other models from EXO but a first hand demo convinced me this was a good choice for my first drone. I also considered DJI but American located support made my choice easy. As a licensed pilot (real airplanes) I am very cautious starting out but after a couple days of use I feel more comfortable each flight. I will maintain and abide by all flight restictions and will pursue part 107 certification. I'm satisfied with the performance, 3-axis gimbal camera, and the fly app, although I primarily use the controller as a "nubie" to the drone sport. I would recommend this model to anyone but if you must have very refined video, especially with fast action recordings, then I recommend you consider one with a 60fps capability vice 30fps. But for my intended use, filming my small acerage, examining roof and gutters, and recording RV travels this X7 Rangeer Plus is perfect. ... show more

I love the quality and the price-point. I kept buying the cheap stuff that FB taunted me with, and I got what I paid for. Usually crappy control software. This was my first step into better quality gear and I’m very happy with it.
