Some of the pairs are started to rip up but they are holding strong. I go through about 1-2 pairs a day and roughly 5-10 pairs a work week. I have yet to throw any out. I got these to use as liners for neoprene gloves when I'm BBQing or smoking meats. They seem to offer pretty good thermal protection, making it easy to move meats and grill grates around without disturbing the bark or burning my hands. Last night I carried a tray inside (about 40 feet at a slow walk) from the smoker that was at about 275º F and was completely comfortable doing so. Handling a pork butt to wrap it, carry it in and after resting pull it by hand I never felt more than a slight warmth. These gloves are great for this purpose and my hands don't seem to sweat as much when using the liners as they do when wearing just the neoprene gloves alone. I got these because I have a hard time gripping things, esp door handles to outside shed, etc.....as I have had bi-lateral carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and wrists. They are warm and they work extremely well for gripping. Glad I got such a large pack of them. Should last awhile. Only thing is the gripping is on the inside of the left handed ones, but I can make that work. ... show more

I was a house framer in Alaska for 30 years and now I'm building houses in Maine. These are the gloves I wear 90% of the time. I wear a single layer and double or triple them up depending on the temperature. They are thin enough to grab nails and feel what I'm doing yet keep my hands warm enough most of the time. I work in a refrigerated section so I I like to have some knit gloves to wear over my cut-proof insolated gloves for extra warmth and the protect the "good" gloves from wear.
