  • Fresh Power - Dell Optiplex 390 (some cussing included)
Had picked this up for a project to build some free PC parts into a working machine, then found out the graphics card that was included was a bit of a resource hog and would need a 650W. Having already opened this up prior to getting the other parts, I decided to put it to use in our Plex server which is a Dell Optiplex 390. This proved to be a bit of a task as the stock Optiplex PSU is slightly smaller. After a fair bit of wrestling and partially removing the latch for the side of the case and some verbally expressed anger, I was able to get this installed. There is a clear difference in the responsiveness as the old PSU was a lower wattage. Overall a good investment given that the server machine is running almost always and this PSU is much more efficient with its consumption of electricity. Despite getting used in this manner due to accident, I'd recommend it to anyone in a similar situation with a steady hand and some patience. - Husband Review ... show more

  • pretty good for cost!
Came well packaged the power supply also came with extra cables for my gpu only thing that kind of bugged me was how thick the motherboard cable was and the type of fabric the cables were made out of other then that great psu. (8/15/2022) (I'm going to keep updating) 9/7/2022) psu is still in very good condition and the noise level of it is very low to the point you cant even hear it. ... show more

  • It's a power supply, and it works
Had this for 8 months now. Built my PC back in November 2021. I have a 5800x, 32gb ram (4 sticks), Nvidia 1650, 3 M.2 drives (2 on mobo, one in the 2nd PCI-E slot with an adapter), and 3 case fans. I'm sure I'm not getting close to maxing out the power usage (my video card doesn't even require extra power). The modular design is great, my case is super clean. I did not turn on the eco mode (switch on the back of the unit). I assume that keeps the fan either very low, or off, unless the unit gets hotter and needs it. But, I don't hear the fan at all on normal mode, so, no reason to turn the eco mode on. A fan really doesn't use that much power anyways, so, that mode seems kind of useless. I purchased this because it was a good price when I bought it, in the wattage I wanted, and from a brand I've used a lot in the past and trust. No issues, so, 5 stars! ... show more

  • The most Important Compotent
I've built several PCs in my time as a gamer, QA professionally for work and in general for family / friends. Take my review for what it is worth to you. Why I bought this: I purchased this psu because to me, the psu, is the most important competent to my builds. I've only ever totally lost a computer and all its components to a psu going bad (boom, lots of smoke and all parts were fried). So that is why I go for gold edition from reputable brands (EVGA is a standard in my eyes). The build you're seeing is a micro-atx mobo (ASRock 450m Pro4 - Bios version 4.60) with a Ryzen 3700X cpu undervolted to 1.13751 volts and only a power draw of 7watts or so at idle and stock O.C. to 4.4GHz. Will not be going higher as I prefer it to be running under design specifications. CPU sits at: Idle: 30 Celsius Max Temp: 65 Celsius GPU sits at: Idle: 30 Celsius Max Temp: 70 Celsius Southbridge Temp: 30 Celsius What I do with it: I run QA tests on this machine in the gaming industry, multiple hours of in-game torture tests, if I'm not working on that, this machine it is running fold@home during these times of covid-19 and other sever illnesses. In other words, I built this machine to run it into the dirt for as long as possible. I believe such a psu will give me 5 to 7 years of running time without issue. Most of my builds that are retired are 9 years old or more - all of them have gold edition psu. SPECS: Memory: GPU: ASUS TUF 1660 Super CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x CPU Cooler: Scythe Fuma 2 w/ provided thermal paste Mobo: ASrock 450M Pro4 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 550 Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB BL2K8G32C16U4R ... show more

  • SATA cable is not the most flexible in the world and the connector actually broke.
I have a case where the three HDD bays are right on top of each other. When I tried to use one SATA cable on all three drives I heard a loud crack. I thought it was the binding of the SATA cable because they are pretty tight. Come to find out, the SATA power connector actually broke. Did I NEED to use one cable on all three HDD? Probably not. I just didn't want to plug in more cables than I needed.. which I thought was the point of a modular PSU. The good news is that the PSU came with extra cables and I can just replace the broken one. ... show more

  • Great luck with EVGA products
Love the fully modular power supplies for computers to make cabling and efficiency greater. The other benefit is the lower noise level. If you own/use a more traditional low end power supply will definitely notice and appreciate the difference in the almost non-existent noise level this power supply offers. It installs easily and provides all the cables needed for most PC configurations. Both EVGA branded video cards and power supplies have been often used and quality has proven to be great. It's more likely the hardware will be upgraded before any failure occurs. ... show more

  • Quality PSU & Trustworthy Brand
First off, I had a hell of a time trying to install this in my Dell Optiplex 7010 machine (MT version). Dell puts these plastic pieces near the PSU slot, and fitting it was not happening. I had to do a mod and pry off the plastic tab closest to the case with a pair of lineman pliers in order to fit this PSU in. This is not the products fault, so no reduction in stars due to this. PSU worked like a charm and it really looks like a quality piece too, seems very high quality. They say don't skimp on a PSU, I'm glad I didn't and got this nice gold-rated one by a trustworthy brand. ... show more

  • Excellent PSU, Best Value!
I ordered and installed two of these since August of 2021 & they were & still are easily the greatest Value. They are quiet and very pleasing to the eye. At this price point for 80 +Gold & Fully Modular there is no better value to be found.
