I am very happy with this duffel. The fabric and handles are strong and sturdy. The zippers work well and seem like they will last a long time. The outside pockets are a good size- I used one for my toiletries bag and the other for socks and underwear. The inside compartment is a good size- I was able to fit all the clothes I needed and one pair of shoes. I was looking for the perfect medium size and this was just right. I have tried larger ones but they never work out- I pack too much and then they are too heavy. This one holds everything I need but not too much! I liked the choice of colors- some classic ones and some bright fun ones. I bought purple! I took it on a two week trip- packed it full, carried it in and out of hotels- and really gave it a good test. Everything worked great and held up beautifully. Love the size (fits in my locker at the Y), roominess, durability, all the pockets. The shoulder strap is comfortable and I like that there is a velcro piece to keep the the hand straps together. After 9 years, finally replaced my duffle that I take to the pool nearly every day and was thrilled to find that they still had the same one. The outside to the bag held up great. All zippers still worked fine and the hardware was still good. After 9 years of suits and shoes with chlorine water inside, it had started to leak through the bottom slightly so I decided to replace it. Still usable for dry items. The reviews of this bag were mixed so I was a little hesitant to buy it. However, it had everything I was looking for in the price range I wanted so I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did because it worked perfectly for my needs. Keep in mind, I wasn't looking for the highest quality or stylish bag. This was for my mother to go across town every weekend to visit her grandson. After a couple of months, it had held up and my mother hasn't complained about the bag. My mother was a little picky and passed up on some other bags. She didn't want a large bag and wanted enough pockets for her small items. She wanted to spend under $20 without getting something extremely flimsy. The bag doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like the highest quality either. However, it seems to be built fine for light use. It has a large main pocket, two zippered pockets on either side, and a small zippered pocket on front. If it had any small pockets inside the main compartment, I wouldn't know as I didn't look that closely. The material seems water resistant but not waterproof. We didn't have any real need for a waterproof section so I don't know if it has one, but I doubt that it does. There is no separate shoe compartment. I think the only thing I'd change is that the strap's hooks aren't swivel-type. That's a pretty small criticism overall. I haven't found any reason not to recommend this bag. You just have to consider your criteria and expectations. Perhaps the mixed reviews means the consistency of quality is hit or miss. It's not as small as i expected it to be. I was looking for a duffle bag because i'm out of the house about 10 hours of the day transitioning from the gym, school, and then work. I used to carry two back packs and it was getting tiresome. The Everest luggage bag is big enough to carry my work cloths and shoes as well as an extra shirt for school. I take a shower at the gym so I don't smell funny as school so it also carries my toiletries on one end and my school supplies in the other. I put a small cardboard divider in between my my clothes and school books/ notebooks so that they doesn't touch (It's a pet peeve of mine). The zippers seem fine on my bag and I just ordered a second one, so i'll recap if the zippers are bad on other bag. The only small complaint is that the side mesh isn't that useful unless you're fine with carrying small items that you're comfortable with showing. I would had loved a separate compartment for my shoes, but for $16.99 its a damn good deal. Now checking the prices it's 13.01 which is even better! ... show more

I bought this bag for vacation for my children it is also going to be used as an overnight bag. The price was right. The quality of the bag isn't the best, its a bit flimsy, and we had issues with the large handle already being damaged, but the bag itself functions for a bag that will likely be used to carry overnight clothes for a 10 year old about once or twice a month. I wouldn't suggest it for anything that requires a sturdy or great quality bag. This is for a light user. ... show more

I've been using this bag for a couple months now, 3-5 times per week, taking gym clothes/shoes/equipment for my after-work workout. The bag is small enough to fit into the gym locker, but big enough to hold my shorts, shirt, shoes (size 12), protein bottle, wrist brace, lock, and more. The quality seems to be good, and I've had no issues with the zippers or velcro. If I had one complaint, it's that it seems to me that the strap might eventually rip off of the bag; for the amount of weight the bag can hold, the strap seems a little too light-duty. Again, I've had no issues, that's just my impression of the material/build quality. The handles seem nice and firm though, I have no worries of them ever ripping, and I prefer to use them to the strap anyway. ... show more
