I did a practice setup in my backyard and 3 of the corner poles bent. I am worried that they will fail when I am actually camping. Also, one of the plastic collars on the shock-corded poles has a manufacturing defect. How do I get new poles? Otherwise, it is as expected and quite pleased. June 2024 Update: Ever Advanced came through in high fashion. New poles were sent quickly and in time for our first camping trip of the year. The tent was much easier to set up the second time and none of the poles bent. The degree of black out is amazing. Even in the middle of the day, it is very dark inside the tent. I’m always hesitant with buying a tent because weather is so unpredictable in Missouri. We did get a torrential downpour on our first night using this tent and there were zero leaks. Everything stayed dry. I absolutely LOVE the blackout feature inside the tent. No sunlight gets in, and if you’re using a light inside the tent, no one can see from the outside. I love the many hooks and space saving holders by the window to hold phones or the like. Zippers were easy to use and great placement. Very easy to set it up, too. The poles are color coordinated.     • Not What I Expected

I searched and searched before I found this tent I was looking for a black out rent for my husband, 20 year old son and I. I knew it would be raining so being waterproof was important as well. The only way to fit all 3 of our cots in the tent and still have room to walk we had to put one cot in the front compartment which meant from the outside you could see the cot budging out. Also when my sleeping bag would slide off my cot during the night and hit the tent I would wake up with a wet sleeping bag because of the condensation so anything touching it got wet at night. As far as black out it was fabulous, however when we set the tent up I could see tons of spots where it looks like the tent material was rubbing thin somehow not sure if that happened in transit, so this means I could see the light in those spot it was nothing that would keep you awake but it was noticeable (and there were ALOT). Our tent did leak we never figured out where it was coming from but the front compartment had a least 3 cups of water in it every time if rained. We constantly tripped when walking from the first compartment into the back, there is a zipper that separates those two sides from each other with a lip you have to step over to get into the back sleeping area, I actually tripped fell one time when I was getting ready to exit the tent. Because of that lip and us tripping I can't tell you how many times we knocked everything over in the tent. I would say if you are going to be camping and it is just two people with two cots when it is not going to rain this would be an ok tent. If you had a queen size air mattress there would be no room to walk. If I could I would ask for a refund not happy with the tent at all. ... show more

    • I like it, look for Velcro adjusters
Wish there were better instructions, the upright pools were really hard to get in there slots. When we were taking the tent down I found Velcro adjustment straps were the top of the upright pools attach. Would have been much easier to setup if I had seen them during setup. The only thing I didn't really like was all the Velcro, that is going to get caught on my clothes and cause snags, and will pick up bits of things and then not stick well. Tent came with sturdier stakes then you normally get with a tent, and overall seems well made. Very dark inside, which is great for sleeping in. Tent is heavy, but also thicker material then most tents, and solid poles. The tent survived a rain storm, with only minor wettness in one corner, where the window was also left partially open. ... show more

Absolutely a great tent for what we wanted. Aluminum poles. We used a queen sized air mattress and had plenty of room. The enclosed front porch is great, you can separate yourself inside from the front with a zipper.

Tent is made well. Went thru a severe storm 60+ mph winds. Two poles broke. They honored the warranty and replaced them quickly! Dark out is great! We purchased and the next day it went on sale. Amazon would not honor the price change.
