So far i love this hat, have not used it yet for its intended purpose yet, hunting, but just from trying it out around the house i love it. The orange color is the typical blaze orange color of your typical hunter's hat or vest. It is a good weight/qiality hat, not some cheap, thin, easily stretched out hat. So even if and when the light does stop working i will still have a good quality hat. The light snugs into and pulls out of the rubber light holding piece without any problems. Seems to be a very good quality stiching job of that rubber piece to the hat. I guess its possible that the light could possible "fall out of" the hat, but to me it seems secure enough in there. I have an outlet in my kitchen that also has 2 usb ports and this light fit in those ports perfectly for charging. The light has 3 settings, or intensities....guess you could call them; bright, brighter, and brightest. You just press the little round button in center of light once for it to come on, press again to go to brighter, and a 3rd press to go to brightest setting. Im not sure of the lumes # for each intensity and i dont really care.....i just need the light for close in work like putting treestand on a tree, taking it off a tree, or field dressing a deer. All 3 intensities are plenty bright enough for my intended use, close in projects where i can have both hands free to work and still have ample light to see. Cant speak for longevity or durability yet. My only complaint, or recommendation, is to offer the orange and camo hats as a reduced price combo deal like you already do with other different color combos. I was still able to purchase both the orange and camo seperately but there are many others out there that both gun hunt (requiring by law orange hat) and archery hunt (where total camo is allowed), so the orange/camo combo makes perfect sense. Totally recommend this product....and i was not paid or given anything for this review.

This hat is awesome for nighttime use, especially if you need to walk a dog run outside to throw out the trash. It’s perfect. The light goes on easily and is nice and bright without blinding you. You can see straight ahead of yourself and it works very well with no dimming in the month + of daily use.

Color: Orange
The orange color does stand out to help to be seen. It is not a really bright orange where it looks out of place for daily wear. In other words, it will work for outside walks/biking but does not make you look like a construction worker, so the color is balanced between effective and annoying. The material and construction of the hat is of moderate grade and expect it to last a few years minimum. It is not a deep winter thick material and have not tested in below freezing as of yet. It is warm for just above freezing and expect it to work well. The light has 3 brightness settings that does affect battery life. The brightest setting allows you see to do tasks at arms length, like reading, getting mail, going from/to the car. In my opinion, it is not strong enough to replace a bycicle light to see the path ahead very far. It is bright enough for personal safety and to get a bike out of a garage or bike rack. The light charger is an integrated USB male connection and basic in design. This either means cheap or efficient. Not had long enough to tell. It did charge while plugged into a power strip that had USB charging ports. Due to the size and nature of the USB charging, it may not fit into some charging ports. It is attached to the light where the light is flush with the charging port when plugged in. You will need a few inches on either side of the charging port for it to fit. Gave it 4 stars because it works as described and is of medium quality, though there are some uncertainty of the durability of the light. Time will tell. Good value overall.

This hat is warm, covers your ears, has a light and i use it everyday to take my dog out in the morning when it is dark and cold. The light is bright and yes you do have to charge it periodically. The beanie is great. So, my hubby who is a body builder, preps food quite often. His preference is chicken which we cook 3/4 pounds at a time on the grill every few days... year round!! We live in Central Illinois so our winters aren’t mild by any stretch of the imagination, and it gets dark at the earliest point of the year, around 5:30. So for the most part he’s grilling in the dark, seasonally- also in the cold. So I bought this hat for him for Valentine’s Day! As Soon as he opened it he laughed a bit knowing exactly what it was for! He usually has to wear a headlamp and a hat while he’s grilling at night to see his chicken. While we have outdoor lights where the grill is situated, he likes to see it with a headlamp type of light as well. So he knew this was specifically for that! The light does have 3 settings. The dimmest, and then 2 more brighter settings. The brightest setting works really well and illuminates the entire grill. As opposed to a headlamp having to tilt the light to focus on the grill, this just sorta lights up the whole area which is nice :)! He really likes the hat itself too. It’s not too heavy not too light, and keeps his head warm while he’s outside grilling. So win win really. I def am happy the hat and he uses it every time do his outdoor grilling when it’s dark and/or cold enough to need a hat/or the light! I mean for 10$ you can’t really beat it!
