After 6 years in the same house I decided it was time to finally get some curtains for my office. This room has a number of issues we were trying to address with putting up curtains, glaringly bright sun in the afternoon, which can make the room unbearably hot in the summer and difficult to work in from the amount of light, incredible drafts in the winter, and a good deal of light coming in during the evening from streetlights and neighbors. In the past we've been cheap and have hung blankets over the windows, and it was time for an upgrade that would feature our choice in style. These curtains are fairly thick and are decently soft. The stars shine enough that they will reflect the light in the room and can create an eerie glow if you have electronics or night lights that light up the space. I enjoy this feature, but it may not be comforting to everyone. They come with matching bands for tie backs making them easy to pull back when you want to let light in. The ones I ordered were longer than expected, but as they fall all the way to the floor, this has helped with the draft on the cold days we've already had this year, and we've tested the draft protection by cracking the windows open, and these curtains have made an incredible difference. I don't know if they're insulated, but they're definitely cozy. As I currently only have them up on two of four windows in this room, I can't attest to how completely they reduce light, but I do know the difference is quite significant. It doesn't appear that they are full blackout curtains, but by the experimentation we've done I'd say about 80% reduction, perhaps more. They keep out the light at night pretty much completely. We will eventually be pairing these with some sheer curtains to filter the light when we don't want a full darkening effect, but due to my migraines the heavy darkening effect is what we're really going for. These would be great for someone who needs light reduction due to migraines or to sleep during daylight hours as the darkening effect is quite significant, or for a kid's room for someone still taking naps. They are cute, and the stars are quite shiny, so it doesn't exactly have an elegant look, but they're fun and pleasant. My whole family likes them, and they allow me to incorporate a little bit of my gothy flair while still being appealing to my kids. These are a perfect compromise for our needs and our household.

Straight out of the packaging and box. True to color, very few wrinkles, it has been a few days, I did not have to iron these, or steam, and all the wrinkles are gone. VERY nice curtains for the price. Will buy again. These photos were taken in the daytime, I had to turn on my ceiling lights, it was so dark in my Livingroom and Diningroom.
