I was pregnant. Thats should be enough information to convince you that i highly recommend this cushion but i can expand on that. I was pregnant with my second and was planning to purchase a cushion for after giving birth, which if you have never done, results in some sensitive nether regions. Last time the hospital had provided me with an inflatable cushion, not a donut one, it was sort of a checker board pattern. And it helped, but unless i sat on it just right it put more pressure on painful areas. So i didnt really want that. I was in no hurry since i was still a few months away from my due date. In the meantime we moved to the next state over and were in the process of selling our old house, making 3 hour drives on weekends to pack, clean, etc. On one trip the pregnancy pains finally got to me. I'm not exactly sure where the pain was originating from but it was my butt, hips and inner thighs. When i got out of the car i couldnt stand up straight from the pain. The thought of driving home later that day made me want to cry. I was still more than 2 months from my due date. So i decided to splurge and get a better cushion and get it right away. The difference with this cushion was amazing. It saved my butt during pregnancy. It has just the right amount of give. We have hard leather seats in our car so this was an amazing difference. And then during my postpartum recovery, i dont think i would have been able to sit in the car or even on our dining chairs without this. The ability to remove the insert part was a game changer. It helped take all the pressure off exactly where i needed it. The only downside to this cushion is that its pretty thick, so it raised me up about 3 inches. That may not seem like a big deal, but in the car it put the contour of the seat back at a different part of my back. When I already had some back pain from being pregnant this was not great. Not terrible but not great. Afterwards I didnt mind so much, but it is noticeable. Anyway, i highly recommend this cushion if you have or anticipate any pain in your greater nether region. ... show more

I use this all day every day and it has saved my butt from pain. It is not gel. At first I thought I wasn't going to like it, but it works so well that I can sit all day. I have another gel seat cushion from a different company which is thicker. I use the gel one for bleachers at basketball games. The gel one cuts off my circulation after a while and squishes my nuts, not easy to adjust. I think I like the function of this firm one here vs. the gel one. ... show more

    • Attention Those with Larger Builds!!
This product is good the first couple days that you have it, but I'm a plus sized woman (Size 18-20, 5'5") with a big booty and after a few days it will smush under your weight if you're larger person. I purchased this for my computer chair, and I will admit, even this smushed cushion is better than nothing at all, but if you're a person who is looking for something to provide more support under a larger body type, this cushion was likely not made with us in mind. Also, a note for all body types, this cushion will shift and slide around during an 8hr work day, so expect to readjust a few times while working. ... show more

I needed a hole big enough so I am not sitting on the painful soft tissue around my tailbone. Regular cushioned pads are still painful to sit on. This pad is not too high to throw off my back, and has the cushion cut out just in the right place. I can sit again without agony! I may by more to replace the car one that goes too flat. This one holds up well! Why it hurts to sit, no one can explain to me. Bursitis? From riding horses in my youth? Don't know, but this cushion really does the trick! ... show more

Not a thing to dislike!! I fell backward a week ago right down HARD on my tailbone and could NOT sit in any chair other than on the edge and stay straight UP! This cushion is amazing!
