I LOVE this mascara. It lengthens and plumps up your lashes and does not easily smear or run. I used to use much more expensive products (Dior, Urban Decay) and this is as good, for 1/4 of the price. Best of all? Essence truly is a cruelty free make-up company - many companies who make that claim have parent companies that test on animals, not Essence. I can understand folks using animals for sustenance, but it has never made sense to me why anyone would feel justified harming animals in the pursuit of beauty. Absolutely the best mascara! I was a little iffy on buying because of previous(old) reviews saying they received dry old mascara. Mine is perfect! I've used this same mascara in 2013-2014 and was sad when I wasn't able to find it in the store I had gotten it from or any stores for that matter. I never thought about looking online either. Came across it just recently and had to have! I love it and will be buying more when the time comes! I've used all types of mascara, cheap and expensive and this is still the best! ... show more

I used this mascara back in 2018 and 2019 and it made my lashes like incredible long and thick , everyone was questioning what mascara I use . But now I decided to give it a try and it’s a big flop , it looks very cheap with no effect on my lashes , the quality has dropped for sure

RED TUBE: My fav brand because no other brand builds fat THICK lashes in seconds and keeps them curled . In one coat actually. But you better check a mirror every hour for black dry dots (flakes) under eyes. =Horrible. PURPLE Tube: It has too much oil - smunges under eyes - doesnt come off with water - and if you get any under a fingernail - it is impossible to clean it out! ... show more

    • Old Mascara
The tube I purchased was not sealed or in packaging, and the mascara inside was old and dry. Because it was dry it was clumpy and it had that old mascara smell.
