Love the kickstand that folds allmost flat. This is my second ESR case the first one was on my S10+ wich lasted 3 years and still going strong but time to upgrade my phone. My case for the S10+ went on many a camping trips, fell out of a golf cart, dropped a few times and protected my phone every time.     • Sturdy Kickstand

I know I've reviewed this before, but anyway, I've bought about four of these, at first mainly because I wanted a sturdy kickstand. This latest one for the Samsung S21 I really like because they've given it kind of a matte finish, whereas the other ones I took a piece of fine-grit sandpaper to the back to lightly scuff 'em up because they were so slick they'd slide off any kind of cushion or armrest if it wasn't perfectly level! The only criticism I have is that the kickstand - which clicks into place, and that's a very nice feature too - should open the other way, because when I use the phone in the landscape position (which I always do when reading something so I don't knock the phone over when I swipe the screen to change pages), the phone is resting on its controls, which is problematic if it times out and I happen to be holding a greasy burger, because then I have to let go of the burger (which, of course, immediately falls apart), wipe off my hand and pick up the phone to hit one of those buttons to reactivate my screen! I know it sounds like I'm picking nits, but it really does get annoying. So far I have found that if I leave the phone on its other side, the stand will still hold it up, but as that stand gets older and develops a little play in the kickstand, maybe it won't hold it up anymore. And, after all, would it have been so difficult to have it open from the other side?! ... show more

I have had several types of kickstand case, and these are by far the sturdiest. Portrait mode can be a little wobbly when I tap, but it's amazing it can do portrait at all. My only complaint is that they discolor very quickly. I had one on my Pixel 3a for a year, and it was quite yellow within 6 months. The photo shows my new case next to my one year old case, and the difference is striking. ... show more

This is the 2nd case from this manufacturer that I have had. I like how the cases are low profile but still provide adequate protection for my phones. The kickstand is great, it works just as good for standing up the tall way as it does in the wide position. There is a bump in the back where the kickstand sets but it doesn't get in the way of charging wirelessly. I got the black version but it is is slightly see-through, which I didn't care for immediately, but I don't mind much since I have the black phone. I had the one on my old phone for 2 years and it always stayed on tightly & stood up firmly, and I don't see any signs this latest on is going to be any different. I bought this case as a combo deal with the ESR screen protector. The case looked good. Edge protection was adequate. The built in stand was great. I didn't like the tactile feel of the case. I have very dry hands and the thing felt to slippery to me. I didn't think the fit was very tight on the phone either. It was pretty easy to pop it off the phone. I ended up sending it back and ordering the same brand I had on my previous phone but it was double the price. Update: I'm adding another star because their customer service has been outstanding so far. We have had several emails and they are going to send me a similar case with a matte finish to try. Update: Replacement case arrived. Same shape as the first one but it a black case with a matte finish. Does not slip from my old dry hands, Has a great stand that locks shut, has a stiffened hinge so the stand will stay any angle you want and works great for portrait or landscape viewing. This is not one of the super rugged military spec tough cases, but does provide good protection without being overly thick or heavy. This one is definitely a keeper. A friend of mine showed me this case on his S20. It was clear and yellow'ed due to age BUT what really drew my interest was the friction kick-stand that could be adjusted to almost any angle. I was not a fan of the clear version but found out they made a black (later found out it was somewhat of a frosted black but looked more solid once I installed my black phone. I have to say really good quality here. I like the metal inserts you find when you open the kick-stands and the camera cut out accentuates the camera bump nicely! Definitely a excellent value and buy especailly at the current sale price! Glad I bought the black tranparent vs the clear case. Overall the attention to detail and overall quality makes this an A+ case! ... show more

This isn't my first ESR case and they have all been good for protection as is this one. Having issues with Samsung pay thru this case, possibly due to thickness. I have dropped my phone a couple times from waist height and no issues but phone did hit on corners each time. Rating reduction due to issues with Samsung pay but overall happy with product. ... show more
