Was searching for a better soil option for my seedlings this year; and this soil worked out great ! The texture was soft not clumpy; handles watering well. Arrived nicely packaged; easy light weight bag to carry if like me you have to plant indoors .

    • Sticks and Lumps
After removing the many sticks and clumps of something brown this worked great for seed starting. I think of seed starter as being very fine so the tiny seeds don't have to fight with large pieces. In that regard it was more like potting soil. It's a real plus that it is organic.

I like to start seeds for spring and summer plants. The system that I use includes 72 spaces and LED hanging lights. It is easy to mix the starter with water and fill the spaces. This products holds enough water and remains consistent for good drainage.

Will never purchase this again. Terrible absorption when watering seedlings. Water pooled on top rather than absorbing into soil mixture. Seedlings were much less robust than in years past using a different mix. Started new seedlings with a different seedling mix weeks later to compare and those plants have already far surpassed the seedlings we planted using the Espoma seedling mix a month ago.
