Surprisingly Good!
Size: 4 Quart
Espoma Organic Cactus Potting Soil is a specially formulated blend designed to cater to the unique needs of cacti and succulents. Known for its well-draining properties, this soil is made from organic ingredients like peat moss, perlite, and sand to mimic the natural environment these plants thrive in. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking to provide optimal growing conditions for their desert-dwelling plants. Pros: Perfect Drainage: One of the standout features of this soil is its superior drainage capability. Cacti and succulents are prone to root rot if they sit in moisture for too long, and Espoma’s blend ensures excess water drains quickly, promoting healthier roots. Organic Ingredients: The soil is certified organic, which is a big plus for plant enthusiasts who prefer natural growing mediums. It doesn't contain synthetic fertilizers or chemicals, which is great for those looking for an eco-friendly option. Great for Succulents and Cacti: This soil is ideal for a variety of plants beyond cacti, including succulents, bonsai, and other plants that require well-draining soil. It’s formulated to create an environment similar to a cactus’s native habitat. Easy to Use: The soil is lightweight and easy to work with, making it simple to repot or plant new cactus or succulent varieties. It's also available in various sizes, catering to both small indoor plants and larger pots. Promotes Root Growth: With its loose texture, the soil allows for healthy root expansion, which is vital for plant development and longevity. Cons: Might Need Extra Drainage: While the soil provides excellent drainage, for very sensitive plants or larger pots, you might still need to add extra perlite or grit to ensure optimal moisture control, as the blend could sometimes retain a bit more water than desired. Slightly Expensive: Compared to regular potting soils, Espoma Organic Cactus Potting Soil can be a bit pricier, though many feel it's worth the investment for the health and longevity of their plants. Verdict: Espoma Organic Cactus Potting Soil is an excellent choice for those serious about their cactus and succulent care. It strikes the right balance between drainage, texture, and organic ingredients. While it’s not the cheapest option, the quality and health benefits it offers your plants make it a worthwhile investment. Ideal for both beginners and seasoned plant enthusiasts, this soil helps create the ideal environment for thriving desert plants. Highly recommended!

Good reliable product that shows results.
Size: Pack of 1
I’ve been using this particular brand of cactus and succulent soil since last year. I decided to buy it since I was already using the brand fertilizer together. They are a great combination for my succulents and cactus.

Great Soil! VERY Sandy Mix
Size: Pack of 1
Overall this is a great soil mix. It's very heavy on course sand (I like to incorporate more bark chips, like orchid mix, and perlite for my well-draining mixes). The fine soil does tend to slip through the drainage hole so you lose some. I would use something chunkier for semi-epyphitic plants, but this is good for plants that require a well-draining mixture but can handle a heavier soil. I tend to use this as a mix (especially for my aroids): 1 part espoma cactus mix (this product), 2 parts orchid mix (I also use espoma), 1 part regular indoor potting soil (I also use espoma for this), and just a dash of extra perlite. Works great! On a separate note, I LOVE that these come in resealable bags so I can keep it for longer.

Infested with Fungus Gnats
Size: 4 Quart
The media could not be loaded. I purchased two bags of Espoma cactus mix. I used one in repotting some of my plants and set the other aside. A few days later, I noticed my home was swarming with fungus gnats. I opened the second bag that had been set aside and when I looked inside I saw the bag was absolutely crawling with them. I would never recommend this product, even if they were giving it away for free. DO NOT BUY. I now have to spend money in several months, trying to find a way to remove the flies from my home. As I have over 50 potted plants, this is going to be an extremely painful and long process. Horrible. Update: months later still have flies. Customer service was pathetic.
