Here’s the deal- as far as I can tell, the item itself is pretty cool. I was disappointed in the packaging as I purchased this for my child’s teacher for Christmas. I had to find another box and mess up the packaging because it was sent in something very odd. It looked like what a romantic sex game would come in. A red box with hearts and love all over it. So, I tried to find another box so that it wasn’t awkward. lol. So 4 stars over all for me.

I've ordered well over my share of items from Amazon, and have never seen such nice packaging. It comes in a blue box with a purple ribbon on top. It looks like a wrapped gift already. Then when you open it you find everything laid neatly nestled in a blue satin satin cloth lined insert. The globe itself is perfectly laser etched. Though I thought I ordered the "Galaxy" I guess I was wrong. The "Solar System" is fine too. Also many different light patterns can be set. Including color changing and static color. The base can either be run with 3 AAA batteries, or with the power adapter included. The glass sphere is the perfect size as well. All the planets and sun are named. I miss Pluto, lol. I'm so impressed, I will probably be getting the "Galaxy" one as well. Heck, I might just get one for a friend. I know they would be very happy with the entire experience. From receiving, to opening, and finally to using. I could not worry about them enjoying it at all. I highly recommend this product, as if you couldn't tell.

We had trouble cycling through the colors, as it would just shut off, and reset back to the beginning. The power brick included with this is junk, and does not adequately power this. I replaced the brick with a higher quality USB plug, and all of those issues have gone away. It’s a shame to have such a cool item, and have that wasted by a cheap commodity power adapter. They would have been better if they didn’t include a brick at all
