  • Excellent!!
Color: Gray
I recently purchased the Ergodyne N-Ferno 6823 Balaclava Ski Mask and I am very happy with it. I have been using it for skiing and snowboarding and it has kept me warm and comfortable even in cold weather. The mask is made from a wind-resistant fleece that blocks out the cold air, and it also has a hinged design that allows me to adjust the amount of coverage I need. This is great for when I am wearing a helmet, as I can just open the bottom of the mask to breathe more easily. I also like that the mask is very versatile. I can wear it as a full face mask, a neck gaiter, or just a face shield. This is great for different activities, as I can adjust the coverage depending on my needs. For example, I might wear it as a full face mask when I am skiing in cold weather, but I might just wear it as a neck gaiter when I am hiking in milder weather. Overall, I am very happy with it. It is warm, comfortable, and versatile. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality balaclava for winter sports or outdoor activities. ... show more

  • Essential Cold-Weather Gear for Skiing Adventures
Color: Gray
As an avid skier, I recently tried out the Ergodyne N-Ferno 6823 Balaclava Ski Mask during my ski season, and it proved to be a reliable companion on the slopes. This wind-resistant face mask with a hinged design added an extra layer of protection against the elements and enhanced my overall skiing experience. The hinged design of the mask is a game-changer. It offers flexibility to wear it in different ways, depending on the weather conditions and my comfort level. I could easily pull down the lower half when taking a break or adjusting my gear, without having to remove the entire mask. This feature also helps prevent fogging on my goggles, which is a common issue with traditional ski masks. The mask's wind-resistant properties are commendable. It effectively blocks out the chilling wind, allowing me to stay warm and focused on the slopes. The fleece lining on the interior adds a cozy touch, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The one-size-fits-all design worked well for me, providing a snug yet not overly tight fit. It easily accommodated my helmet without any discomfort or interference. While the mask did a great job overall, I did notice that it wasn't as breathable as I had hoped, particularly during more intense skiing sessions. This led to some condensation buildup, which isn't uncommon with similar face masks. In terms of durability, the mask held up well throughout the ski season. The stitching and materials seem sturdy and capable of withstanding the demands of outdoor activities. Overall, the Ergodyne N-Ferno 6823 Balaclava Ski Mask is a valuable addition to any skier's gear collection. Its hinged design, wind-resistant properties, and comfortable fit make it a reliable companion for cold-weather adventures on the slopes. Pros: Hinged design offers flexibility and prevents fogging Effective wind resistance keeps the cold at bay Cozy fleece lining adds comfort One-size-fits-all design accommodates helmets Sturdy construction for long-term use Cons: Could be more breathable during intense activities In conclusion, the Ergodyne N-Ferno 6823 Balaclava Ski Mask played a crucial role in keeping me warm and protected during my ski season. Its versatile design and solid performance make it a must-have piece of cold-weather gear for anyone hitting the slopes. ... show more

This mask is awesome, very versatile in the ways you can make it function. Perfect for cool days but a little warm for early Fall in Louisiana. Great value for a quality product.

For the price this is a really good Balaclava. I use this for snowboarding and it fits perfectly in my helmet and I really enjoy the full face covering protection from the cold!

  • Thighs for big heads
Color: Lime
The concept works well. It is warm and generally comfortable. The bright yellow is helpful to add any bit of visibility. It's pretty quick to put on, and sealed around your head well enough to jump out into windy conditions. Compact enough to act as an underlay for another hat/hood or hardhat. Flare around neck tucked well into other clothes/coat. You can fit safety glasses through the cutout. Makes for decent head covering. My complaint would be in fitment. I have a large head, maybe just touching the top end of average - but certainly larger than the mean size. I found I could put the hood on and get it in place. The cap portion would creep off the top of my head as I moved around. I think this was the biggest area of mis-fitment, the crown of my head had a hard time keeping the cap in place. I probably ended up not using the cap portion as much as I could because of this creep, and using it more as a heavy neck gaiter. The material over my nose would pull tight against the tip of my nose, and cause discomfort after a while. I ended up modifying the cutout to create a dart down my nose to make some relief and tighten up the edge below my eyes. That worked better. I would recommend with the caveat about size/fitment. Order larger than expected. ... show more

  • Great hunting mask
Color: Camouflage
I'll be honest, the low price and lack of true brand name recognition in the hunting arena really made me skeptical to buy this mask. I hunt late season, in one of the coldest places you can in the US, and going out on a limb was something I literally took months talking myself into doing. In Northern Minnesota in December, seeing 0 is a rarity. My first hunting trip started at -15 and warmed up to a balmy -5. This mask performed perfectly. Sitting in a stand, with a brisk wind ripping through, didn't have any cold issues on the nose, cheeks or anything that was covered by this mask. I do wear an extra hat to keep ears and head warm, but, that should go without saying in that kind of cold. Comfortable to wear? Very. I wore it some days with sun glasses on and found it really easy to slip the shades on and off through the day. I didn't find it nearly as tight as others have mentioned, but, that is entirely personal considering face-shape and size etc. Considering I was wearing the mask for 10-11 hours at a time with no issues, I'd say the comfort box gets checked. One thing I also found very nice was the ease of sliding the face/nose shield piece down to get some fresh air. Far too often in a lot of these products that functionality gets lost. When you just want a breath of cold, fresh air without that in your path, the last thing you want to do is take the whole thing off. I have worn this turkey hunting in the spring as well, which required a lot more trekking and moving as we closed in on a gobbler, and the mask stayed in place very well. It also didn't overheat me to no ends, which speaks to the breathability moving through the woods, a field or two, and then getting things setup. All in all, for the money, is well worth a buy for any hunter to have. I can't speak to it being as good as a "scentLok" product in terms of hiding odor, but, I've never had a deer wind me and run because of the mask failing. So, take that as you'd like even if you're a brand snob. ... show more
