I love this fish tank, but it has a few issues. Here are the pros and cons: I'll start with the pros: 1. It is absolutely gorgeous. The LED colors are beautiful and the app is easy to use. It is everything I wanted in that regard. 2. The filter isn't too noisy if you turn the oxygen level down - you can find a setting that works best for you and your fish. 3. It's the perfect size for my betta and he seems very happy. Bettas should never be kept in a tank smaller than 5 gallons. The cons: 1. It arrived with a crack in the filter. It still works, but the crack is very noticeable, and I have to be careful when cleaning the tank to not make it worse. I contacted the seller about this but never heard back, which is disappointing. For the price point, I expected to receive a product in perfect condition. 2. I've had the tank for a couple months now and have found that I need to clean it more regularly than expected. The water becomes cloudy and gunk starts growing on everything within about 10 days, so I'm having to do a full clean of the tank at least every two weeks. With a tank this size, it takes about an hour to clean everything and set it all back up. With previous fish tanks, I'd have to do a full clean every 3-4 weeks, so I'm not sure what the deal is with this one. Maybe it's because of the crack in the filter, but not sure. 3. If you order one of the tanks with spikey plastic plants included, do not use them. I realized too late that plastic plants are hazardous to a betta fish's delicate fins. Unfortunately, my fish's fins got caught on the plastic and have torn in a couple places. I'd recommend buying some betta-safe silk plants separately. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase but have to give a 3-star rating due to the damaged filter, which may or may not be causing the tank to become dirty more quickly than usual. ... show more

Rec’d this tank a few days ago. Moved my betta from a small bowl to this setup. I added the aquarium heater. Bettas need to be at a certain temperature to thrive. I set everything up with some aquarium salt, heated the water and released Blueberry (my betta). He immediately explored and has seemed generally happier with The warm water and room. When he was in his bowl he rarely moved. Now his fins are flapping joyfully as he swims everywhere. Pros: -Blueberry seems happy -LED light options are awesome. Blueberry prefers the soft yellow glow which mimics sunset. He hides if there’s anything brighter. -other commons have stated the glasses reflective and has triggered their Betta. Blueberry seems fine and has not gone into fight mode. - -unit is sleek and modern and fits perfectly in a small space. -set up was not too difficult. Cons: -at first, the filter was full power and loud. Lots of bubbles. You can adjust the amount of oxygen by twisting The cap on a tube inside of the filter housing. However, after a couple of days it does not seem to be working! I do not plan to return the unit as I do not want to upset blueberry, I will instead be looking at different filter options. --while I did not measure, it does not seem to hold 5 gallons. -LED light May or may not be the reason blueberries tank fluctuates several degrees during the day. I am currently testing keeping the light off and seeing if the temperature remains stable. There is a warning on the top of the tank that the LED is “hot.” -The aquarium decoration dinosaur fossil rock thing that came with my unit was far too big to allow good swimming room. I left it out and added a hiding rock from Blueberry’s old bowl. -set up did not include decorative rocks. I used rocks from Blueberry’s old bowl. ... show more

Maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’m not sure to be honest, BUT I bought this fish tank to make it easier. It was not one bit easier. My last tank, 5 gallons. Had to clean it every 3-4 weeks. It didn’t sit in the sun, but algae growth surpassed cleanliness a small amount of weeks later. So I get this “smart tank” that costs 100$+ dollars and you spend money on tank refills, and it does not do one single bit better than the other. It’s nice that you can turn the filter off and on w a button versus unplugging and plugging, but the filter only stirs the top part of the water. Even if you have the tub turned up or down, it’s never stirring close to the rocks or stuff inside. I had 1-3 fish in it, a beta and small catfish, most the time. Sometimes I just had one. The tank gets dirty ridiculously quick. IF YOU READ ANY PART OF THIS READ HERE the tank simply is not worth it. I bought a $25 tank from Petco that I switched back too. Pay the filter replacement charge, and having to clean it equally as much as a fish tank w a 20$ filter, don’t waste your time. ... show more

UPDATE: Had this tank for little over a month and the LED light went out today. I am having a difficult time finding a replacement. Pretty upset. I only gave it 4 stars because the description said it was for bettas and it is not suitable, but i would have gave 5 stars if it was for any other fish lol.. This tank is absolutely gorgeous. The color variations on the LED light is awesome. I love the decorations it comes with and the built in filter is very quiet. However, I purchased this tank for my betta but the sides of the tank are reflective and I he can see his reflection. I just saw him flaring up and banging into the side of the tank. But still tank itself is gorgeous. I'm just going to get a few tetras to fill it instead. ... show more
