  • Great product.
Great product, ease of use and value for money.

  • More than worth the money!
I bought this while I was working on my MBA. I had to print lots of articles that were used in class. Plus the hundreds of reports that had to be submitted, sometimes prepared in multiple copies for distribution to cohort workgroups. I was going through reams of copy paper each week. When my old printer died, I did a quick cost-analysis and determined that the lower cost of ink for an Ecotank would save the price of the printer in about 2 Semesters, and it came with enough ink to last me that long. I am not the least bit sorry I made that decision. The print is crisp and clean. I love that it has a multi-sheet feeder and that I can print on both sides of the paper. I can print using many different sizes/qualities of paper even on cardstock and vellum. Maybe it is overkill for occasional printing or small printing jobs. But I love mine, so go buy your own. ... show more

  • 3850 ECOTANK IS TOTAL JUNK... AS IS THE EPSON PRINTER SOFTWARE, JUNK.. WORTHLESS
I purchased a 3850 ecotank printer and will never make that mistake again. Latest episode: Via OpenOffice word processor I built two pages of inserted photos. Before printing I clicked on page review, all 2 pages looked perfect. I clicked on print and chose the 3850. RESULT: 7 pages printed, one for each of the multi inserted photos in the 2 page document. Not one single page printed as shown in the Print Preview. Another thing, you must turn off the paper type check in the setup or you can never get it to print again after using eg. photo paper ETC, it will always state "wrong paper" every time you try to print std or any thing.. The printer may have quality workmanship but the Epson software junk renders the printer worthless... All that money down the drain for junk.. I am going back to HP or Canon and never again be sucked into buying anything Epson again...my new 3850 is going in the trash along with the extra bottles of ink... How it interpreted ta 2 page document into 7 is a mystery.. I am an IT professional and was taught a costly lesson.. Buyer BEWARE ... show more

  • Works with all devices
Finally a printer that works with everything, doesn’t argue and is economical.

  • Printer
Like the ink tanks. Have only used printer a few weeks, but, so far, crisp and clear printing. Hoping to avoid excessive cost of ink cartridges.

  • Epson is NOT what it used to be.
I bought an Epson XP-220 10 years ago and it lasted exactly 10 years. So naturally I bought another Epson. It cost 129.99 then. 179.00 in today's money. Today they want 400 dollars for that same printer. (they still make it) I bought this ET-3850 for 393 dollars because I thought it was the exact same thing except for the ink tanks. It looks the same and is just as pricey. Considering a load of ink is 92 dollars with an extra black for the XP-220, this 3850 seemed like the way to go with the refillable tanks. I was wrong. This thing is junk compared the XP-220. It doesn't have a print CD adapter, won't hold 4x6 photo paper, no powered paper tray, and no powered tilt center screen, or a touch screen at all. It uses a cheap keypad to maneuver the screen instead. It is light weight. Why? Because inside it's all plastic inside. I don't think this thing holds up another 10 years. Not even close. But it's such a pain to change out my printer, I'll keep it, now that it's on the network. Do I recommend it? For the price? I NO LONGER RECOMMEND AN EPSON PRINTER AT ALL! Sorry. The top of the line HP laser is 579 and that's what I should've bought. The XP-220 should be 179 dollars today, NOT 400, especially with a 92 dollar ink load. I feel insulted about this whole thing. Do yourself a favor, just go to Office Depot when you need a printer. Don't buy it on Amazon. If I would've realized a 393 dollar printer was so stripped down, I would've NEVER bought it. ... show more
