    • More than worth the money!
I bought this while I was working on my MBA. I had to print lots of articles that were used in class. Plus the hundreds of reports that had to be submitted, sometimes prepared in multiple copies for distribution to cohort workgroups. I was going through reams of copy paper each week. When my old printer died, I did a quick cost-analysis and determined that the lower cost of ink for an Ecotank would save the price of the printer in about 2 Semesters, and it came with enough ink to last me that long. I am not the least bit sorry I made that decision. The print is crisp and clean. I love that it has a multi-sheet feeder and that I can print on both sides of the paper. I can print using many different sizes/qualities of paper even on cardstock and vellum. Maybe it is overkill for occasional printing or small printing jobs. But I love mine, so go buy your own. ... show more

    • 3850 ECOTANK IS TOTAL JUNK... AS IS THE EPSON PRINTER SOFTWARE, JUNK.. WORTHLESS
I purchased a 3850 ecotank printer and will never make that mistake again. Latest episode: Via OpenOffice word processor I built two pages of inserted photos. Before printing I clicked on page review, all 2 pages looked perfect. I clicked on print and chose the 3850. RESULT: 7 pages printed, one for each of the multi inserted photos in the 2 page document. Not one single page printed as shown in the Print Preview. Another thing, you must turn off the paper type check in the setup or you can never get it to print again after using eg. photo paper ETC, it will always state "wrong paper" every time you try to print std or any thing.. The printer may have quality workmanship but the Epson software junk renders the printer worthless... All that money down the drain for junk.. I am going back to HP or Canon and never again be sucked into buying anything Epson again...my new 3850 is going in the trash along with the extra bottles of ink... How it interpreted ta 2 page document into 7 is a mystery.. I am an IT professional and was taught a costly lesson.. Buyer BEWARE ... show more

This is the first Epson I've ever owned. I absolutely love this printer. It is doing everything I wanted in a printer. It was so easy to set up. Putting in the ink was effortless and clean. It was easy to get the Wi-Fi set up. The prints are beautiful. Haven't had it long enough to see how long the ink will last. ... show more

I have had this scanner for 30 days and I still can't get it to work. If it asks for a "TWAIN" source one more time I am going to scream. I bought the Epson ES--580W at the same time and I had it up and running in 10 minutes. The Epson ET-3850 I am just going to throw away before I waste any more time tryng to get it to connect to my computer via USB! Very disappointed. It was going to be my backup scanner and now my backup needs a backup. ... show more

    • Color Red is a bit off
Setup and install was quick. Connection to network was flawless. First print page went great. I really cannot complain about a tank printer costing less than $350. I am sure the colors get much better if I paid more money. I am just happy that it does my everyday stuff without fussing.

    • Will not connect to WiFi!
Printer works fine one connected. I spent over 5 hrs on the phone trying to connect the printer to the network to print. This is unacceptable. The instructions do not provide guidance for set up. I was about ready to pack it up and send back to Amazon. If you want a half day of aggravation be my guest and purchase. Now that it is connected it does work well. The printer must be selected each time and the initial password must be put in. Rather than having good directions and processes Epson relies on call centers in the PI for assistance. They provided decent help. Setup should be less than 15 mins. Do not buy! ... show more
