I bought this for my printer: Epson Expression Home XP-4100 Small-In-One. This item (the ink), was shipped to my home in its 1 secure, unopened small box — which was inside an Amazon brown-shipping-bag. All of the 4 inks within the box are brand new, unopened, securely-wrapped — in vacuum-sealed packaging. Excellent packaging Epson! These 4 inks are the correct, recommended, and best inks for my printer. I bought this for when I actually need the ink, I am running-low on ink currently, but I’m not out of any ink yet. Therefore, I have not opened any of the 4 vacuum-sealed-plastic-wrapped inks. It is best to open the plastic up, when you actually need the ink, and are going to install it. So, none of the 4 plastics I have opened, none. They are all safely and securely stored in my home, ready for when I need them though. The Best Before date, shown on the bottom of the main and only ink box is: 01 / 2026. That means, the ink is best to be used before January 1st, 2026. I also must note, that my printer came with this same ink, the 4 ink-cartridges, when I bought the printer on 3-22-20 — so, I do know about this ink — and, it is great printer ink, great quality. First of all I hate how these Epson printers havev to initialize every time you replace a cartridge. Its absolute BS. If you havent noticed this scam with printers then you should know and then tell epson about it. The cartridges that are not removed and still have ink inside will lose ink during this initialization that doesnt even need to happen. It take enough ink that you can notice a difference. Or take a photo of the levels before and after you replace 1 cartridge. They told me its to clear the lines of old ink. Ok, why? Its not dry and the ink lines are fine. This is done for one reason only. To pull ink from the cartridges so you buy more. See they dont sell as many printers as they do the ink cartridges, so why do you think these printers initialize so much? Its to lower the ink levels quicker. I recommend buying a chip resetter for these things. You can get several more color pages from these cartridges if you reset them back to full. When its gets under the halfway mark then reset it. Now its technically full. Oh, and dont try to stop the printer from its initialization process. If you do that then it will just start the process all over again. Its pretty frustrating with the money we spend on these and for them to do a process that does absolutely nothing to make anything cleaner, or better, or faster. Initialization is a joke. Think about the ink inside any pen. How is it that ink is just fine in a blue or black pen for years yet epson and there 2022 printer technology need to clear the lines of perfectly usable ink? If you call epson or email them they will give you some ridiculous reason why it has to do its initialization but they are only trying to get off the phone with you or make it seem like their printers have to do it but its all a damn lie. Ive taken apart these things and there is nothing wrong with the ink in those lines several month without being used. They even have a tank it fills up and you have to replace that every so often as well. Scam. Invest in a color laser jet. Those cartridges last 3 months with regular use. They may cost a lot but way way cheaper than ink over the course of a year. Big difference. Ink is a scam. True story.

I had purchased remanufactured ink cartridges through Amazon, based on the description that they would work just like the OEM cartridges. I ended up throwing them away because I didn't need to put them in my Epson printer, and the time limit to return them had expired. So I had to order the Epson OEM cartridges, so there was no big cost savings. The Epson OEM cartridges from Amazon are a few dollars less than at the big box stores.

My Epson printer would no longer recognize the refurbished cartridges after an update was installed. I purchased the name brand, and the problem was solved. I Guess Epson does not want you to save a few dollars on ink that is not theirs. So sad in these times. The refurbished cartridges were working well and gave the same quality as their name brand.
