  • First guitar I was shipped was unplayable, the replacement is pretty good!
Color: Ebony
FIRST EXPERIENCE: Neck was warped so far back that it was impossible to bring it back with the truss rod. The bridge pin for the high e string was so loose that it was not possible to string. This was very nicely packaged junk. I'm not in the market for a Martin, but I was hoping this would be at least playable. I have owned several other Epiphone instruments down through the years and always found them to be a great value, but I can't help but feel insulted as a customer for being sold this. It has a sticker that says it was inspected at some point, however the end result does not seem like it. REPLACEMENT GUITAR: This thing is kinda nice! It's not perfect but for the price it's the value expected from Epiphone. Everything plays well, and the action is decent. The tone isn't the best ever, but for a guitar in this price range it's fine. The neck is nice and straight on this one. It has a nice sound when plugged in even on my old tube amp which was the handiest one at the moment. With an acoustic amp, it could sound even better. Strings are a little dirty and I have to wash my hands after playing. There was some dust on the fretboard I had to wipe off too, but those are minor details since all the important parts are in working order. I am glad I gave this a second chance. I wish I could have gotten this guitar the first time around. I'm leaving off a star because this wasn't a 5-star experience but I would still recommend this guitar with the advice to only settle for a good one. UPDATE: Here we are nearly two years on, and I'll be honest, when I first got this guitar I wasn't in love with the sound. It sounded well enough for the price, but I still missed my old acoustic that I had before. However, in the time between the wood has dried out and become a great deal more resonant. I did end up restringing it with a lighter string gauge to make it a bit easier to play, but now I am in love with the result. Time will tell how long this guitar lasts (most of these cheapies wear out in 5-10 years) but for now it sounds beautiful and plays well too. ... show more

  • Still very good buy for the price point
Color: Ebony
I bought this guitar for my niece. You will have to clean the strings and you might need to take the guitar to the shop to adjust the intonation. Still very good buy for the price point! There are no fancy electronics on the guitar, but you can plug an instrument cable directly into it from the bottom (in the nob that you would normally wrap your guitar strap on). (No volume control or equalizer etc. on this model). Case not included. ... show more

  • Garbage 😢
Color: Ebony
I got this for my son as a gift. He was so excited. He’s a beginner and I wasn’t expecting perfection but this isn’t even mediocre. It’s complete garbage. It rattles and sounds terrible even when perfectly tuned. So disappointed. I usually love this brand of guitar. I have owned them in the past but probably will never buy another one. ... show more

  • does the job
Color: Natural
It looks more boring than in the photo. But I love how it has a passive pickup.
