  • Just skip this guitar. Get a cheapie and slap FF pickups in it and youll be happier.
Color: Olive Tiger Aged Gloss
oh man I dont know if it was the seller i got it from or if epiphone just makes them this bad but it didnt play, ever. the neck was too back bowed to play. the pick ups were so deep on the neck they might as well still be in china. the bridge pick ups were so high I though Kong might climb them to fight some planes. Literally about 1mm off the string, which were complete against all 24 frets. For a guitar this expensive id expect it to be handled well at the factory, but it looks like this thing was made by WWE wrestlers while they were in a match. Lots of damage to the lower portion of the neck. Tonnes of dings and gouges that were painted over but are very visible and feelable. those wrestlers probably clubbed each other with these necks before gluing them to the guitar. The fret edges are sharper and rougher than any guitar i ever touched, this part actually impressed me, they must of had to go out of their way to get this this jagged and protruding. To sum it up the frets remind me of those sick Vietnam era spike traps ive seen in 80s movies. Mine came with a G string that was cut too short but they just kind of.. left it in there anyways, i guess in case anyone was getting this guitar solely for display purposes, because it just kept slipping when tuning and it slipped right out of the tuning peg with a simple passing huff from a sad sigh. I didnt really get to examine any of the electronics. the guitar looks cool. mine came dirty but the colors are nice, the feel of the guitar is good. Im severely traumatized after getting this guitar, and i watched Mad God half way though without being traumatized, but highly recommend NOT getting this guitar and i doubt ill ever recommend Epiphone guitars to anyone for a very long time. ... show more

  • Great guitar options
Color: Red Tiger Aged Gloss
You can switch pickups and tones so easily while recording to sound like you have two different guitars. Playability is nice. Needs setup put of the box. Heavy like any other Les Paul.

  • It's a great guitar, but...
Color: Olive Tiger Aged Gloss
I've usually been a Fender guy. This is my first Les Paul. Out of the box, it looks good. But, if you have any experience playing, you will quickly see that this guitar needs a complete set-up prior to playing. The neck needed to be adjusted. The saddles needed to be filed as the strings sat at varying heights. This guitar has a 12 inch neck radius. The intonation also needed adjustment as notes played at the 12th fret were either flat or sharp. The action needed to be adjusted, and for the nut, the low E string needed to be filed. If you take this to a luthier, that could be a $200 set-up. Take this potential cost into consideration prior purchase. Fortunately, I have experience with this and the necessary tools to set-up my own guitars. It's also worth noting that no case is included. I had to purchase an epiphone les Paul case which added another $130 to the cost of this guitar. Due to the 24 jumbo frets and the longer neck length of this guitar, third party Les Paul cases may not accommodate this guitar. For the good, once I properly configured this guitar, it's great. The single coils are clean. The humbuckers with the tone cranked have an excellent crunch. My home amp is a marshall dsl5cr with a celestion greenback. It's easy to play clean or drive an utterly disrespectful high gain tone. The asymmetrical neck also allows great playability and access to the low strings with minimal fatigue. The finish is a satin black and the tiger stripe maple top looks good. The ebony fingerboard is also a very nice touch. Aside from the set-up and the case, I cannot think of anything wrong with this guitar. ... show more
