Great Sound, great price, & great service
She is a beauty and plays as sweet as she sounds. I played it right out of the box without any major adjustments. The plug-in electric sound from the two pickups is a high-point - sounds fantastic. The action is nice and the fretboard feels almost as playable as an electric with the narrower neck. The only downside for me personally would be the size - I've never played a jumbo before and it's a little awkward at first. No regrets though - I have other acoustics that provide the more "normal" comfortable playing, so this jumbo provides that extra bottom-end and fuller sound that I can't get from the others. If this will be your only acoustic instrument, I highly recommend trying it out at a local guitar store before ordering to make sure it fits your needs. Overall, I love the guitar.

King of the Budget Flat Tops
Bottom line: Do you want to spend 4 grand on a Gibson J-200? You wouldn't be shopping on Amazon if you did. This is the next best thing for 1/10th the price - you will not find anything comparable at 400 dollar price point. Build quality is very high (crown inlays, mustache bridge, Grover tuners), finish is beautiful, and feel is excellent. Comes set up from factory with D'addario phosphor bronze lights. Have heard mixed things about electronics, but I find they are very rich in sound and you can plug in stereo and bi-amp it like an old Rickenbacker bass with two 15 watt amps. Big enough sound for any coffee house. Don't think it needs the cutaway, but you can't get it any other way. When they say it's guaranteed, they mean it - first one I bought had a twisted neck; they replaced it with brand new one in a couple of weeks. Highly recommended.

Great guitar, faulty electronics

Got this beautiful guitar less than a month ago and played a couple of solo acoustic gigs. People were wowed by the way the sound of this guitar fills the space ( I played it through a Bose tower). Loved the feel of the fretboard. Though the body is a jumbo, it doesn't feel like a dreadnought. The guitar looks very attractive too and I had one person come over during a break just to admire the guitar. So now here's why I have given it 4 stars. The electronics were faulty on my guitar. The tuner switch didn't turn off automatically after I hit them to tune the guitar. The light stayed on till the batteries were drained out. This happened twice to me after which I decided to send it back. I also noticed a big hum building up during my second gig with the guitar - I moved my speaker away a bit and it went away but for the rest of the night I kept worrying if the hum was going to come back. There is a phase switch on the panel that's supposed to make it go away, haven't tried it to see if it works. The hum took me by surprise and I coudn't think straight right at that moment. I wonder if anyone else has had the kind of problems I have had with the electronics. The electronics panel requires coin batteries and it's a little awkward to slip them into the slot provided. The coins kept falling out of the holding clip. The guitars are made in Indonesia but I expect that the factory inspections will ensure that it all works properly before it's shipped out. Despite the hassle with the electronics, I like the guitar well enough that I have asked them to send me a replacement.

Warranty replacement.
Okay, a completely updated review. I'm on 4th exchanged guitar. (I do own an Epiphone Les Paul I'm very happy with bought from Amazon for the record.) Guitar 1: terrible fret buzz from 12th fret up.. Called Amazon and replaced immediately.. Awesome right? Nope.. Guitar 2: came in a single box instead of double packed and appeared to be used.. guitar also had fret buzz this time on only last 2 strings all the way up and down fret. Neck appeared to be twisted. Called Amazon.. Replaced again. Guitar#3. Arrived with dead batteries but played awesome..Was very happy. I just swapped batteries from guitar 2 before I sent it back.. Then, on day 4 of 3rd guitar ownership batteries dead again. Guitar was not plugged in. For the heck of it I tried one more time and same result.. So, one more call to Amazon. Guitar 4: Batteries fully charged.. Fret buzz on a few spots 13th-16th frets. Ugh!!!!! I actually really like this epiphone guitar but I think it's going back and I'll try to pick one out at local mucic store. I'm not sure if Epiphone tried to push a ton of these thru but I am very disappointed in the quality.. Amazon, 3 starts because the sent me a used one. Update, local bought sweet guitar! Water, talked with sales.. they test them.. let them acclimate..have had guitar over a year and no issues and love it! This guitar will warp if it's dry in the winter!! Keep your house humidified.. with that I've had no issues. Love love love the guitar..

Bad instrument
I bought this know the reputation of Epiphone but I have had this guitar for 1 year and the sound is terrible. The high strings buzz but the 3 lower strings are fine. It appears that the neck is bowed in the middle. I tried to adjust the truss rod to no avail. I will have a repair shop take a look but I am not very happy at this point.

Great guitar for a reasonable price...I guess
This is a well built guitar, showing craftmanship and accuracy in assembly. The sound that ultimately broadcasts through the soundhole is just not as powerful as a dreadnought guitar should be. It's average. I think the lesser slices of instrument quality wood show their inferiority when compared to tighter grained harder woods. This guitar played well, although I didn't quite get the dual output thing. I actually plugged it into 2 different amps at once to gauge the effectiveness of twin channels twin outputs. Electronics at the mixing board really do all of that now, no need to split hairs and over complicate the instrument. The onboard electronics seemed a little tinny as well.

My favorite new toy!!!
I have 2 other epiphone acoustic guitars and one Yamaha 12 string acoustic. This guitar is more superior to all the others by far. The guitar sings and rings out like nothing I have heard before. This guitar does not go out of tune! I am allways tuning up my other guitars and when they are in tune I am constantly tweaking them. Grover tuners are the best! I was a little skeptical about ordering a guitar on line, but since I played this guitar before I knew what I was getting. It came very well packed and protected and it came setup already. I was going to replace the strings as soon as I got it, but the strings on it sound so good I decided not to. The onboard tuner and pickups are a huge bonus on this guitar. You can go spend a couple of thousand on the Gibson model or save yourself a ton of money and get the same great sound and look. My other guitars are now collecting dust.

Great Jumbo at a fantAStic price !!!
this is a GREAT guitar, especially for the price. I have a Taylor Jumbo which I use for Gigs, and handle with kid gloves ($3500) I bought this to leave in our rehearsal studio, in case one of us knocks it over, spills beer, dings, dangs, etc...I won't feel so badly...but once I got it and set it up with new strings and started playing, I was PLEASANTLY surprised. Great tone, the soundboard rings nicely. Craftsmanship, attention to detail, electronics, the whole thing is just a great guitar at the price. in my view, worth TWICE as much if not more. One of the rare time I got a lot more for my money !!! if you know a good set up person, have them fine tune it with new strings, etc.
