I purchased this as a "beach guitar" so that I'd have something to bring without care to an extremely high humidity environment and even out on a boat. After playing it for a bit however I'm thinking I will play this thing at home a whole lot more than I expected. So much fun! First, it needed a setup which I was able to do myself. The action at the 12th fret was quite high at around 1.4mm and there was really no neck relief at the fifth fret as the string was touching the 5th fret when fretted at 1 and 12. I sanded the saddle a bit to lower the 12th fret action to .09mm and then loosened the truss rod just enough to give about .01mm or a business card thickness of clearance at the 5th. It plays great now! In the absence of any instructions it took some noodling around for a few minutes to figure out the effects button. Let me just say however that is what not evident due to the lack of instructions is that there is a companion Enya Music app you can download to your phone which really opens up a whole new world for the effects. The four colors can each be completely customized to add as much or as little reverb, chorus, delay and wah in combinations as you want. You can also adjust the volume of the effects both from the guitar and from the 1/4" output along with adjusting their EQ and compression. It ended up sounding so much better than when it came out of the box. Since I have no use for the Wah effect, I completely replaced the purple setting with a custom blend of reverb and delay which came out really nice. I only found out about the app through a YouTube about the guitar I happened across. THE APP IS A TOTAL GAME CHANGER! I also am a fan of Elixir strings so while doing the setup I replaced the stock D'Addario XS set with an Elixir Phospor Bronze HD Light set. Just a better sound to my ear with a touch more low end to go with the high end shimmer. Your results may vary. It's a keeper! Just to update, there is one more thing that was not evident due to the lack of any instructions. You can use the onboard speaker as a Bluetooth speaker from your phone. This allows you to play backing tracks, drum loops, mp3s, YouTube videos etc through the guitar itself to play along with. It does not happen when you pair the guitar through the app however. It is an additional step. Once the guitar is on, tap the knob twice quickly and it will blink once. The guitar is now in pairing mode and will show up as a device that can be paired with on your phone as a Bluetooth speaker (SP1S-G_Audio). It only has to be done once. This has become my favorite feature on the guitar. The playback sounds best without effects so I use it on the green channel which is just the guitar without any additional effects added. ... show more

UPDATED REVIEW: Customer service got in touch with me and ultimately ended up replacing the guitar with a new one. So hopefully the first one was just a lemon and this one will continue to work. Either way, customer service ended up coming though and doing a great job which I appreciate from a company. I bought a x3 pro mini and within 2 months the electronics went out. The button doesn't work and I get no sound when plugged into an amp. I contacted customer support, they sent me a replacement battery, but the problem persisted and so far they have not responded or suggested any other solutions. The guitar sounds good unplugged, and if the electronics work, it would have a high review, but the quality control and poor customer service are 2 serious problems. ... show more

I have tried a few inexpensive carbon fiber guitars. This is the first one that actually sounded like the reviews I saw on YouTube. These will never sound like a guitar made out of wood. But this one does a nice job. The electronics are the best of the sub $400 CF guitars as well. The volume is loud enough to actually hear a change when you push the button. Although gimmicky, I enjoy the effects most when just noodling around. Not a must have for a collection, but good for what it is. A travel guitar, that sounds good, is resistant to the elements and is very affordable. Update: 10/2025. The electronics are failing. A lot of static on some settings. I'm giving this guitar 5 stars because I was blown away by the sound that it can produce with and without the effects. And the fact that it's not really impacted by the weather or temperature fluctuations is great. It's truly an amazing guitar for what it is and it's worth the price.

I bought 4 Enya guitar's. 1 new X4 Pro 1 used X4Pro 1 new x4 Pro mini and 1 used x4 Pro minis. Such a great value for carbon fiber guitars especially for the price. The action felt great right out of the box. Sound quality is amazing even playing without the built in effects or plugged into an amp. They are well worth it. I’m kind of old school so I don’t really care about the built in effects or the fact that it’s rechargeable BUT I think many people would appreciate those features. I would have preferred they design it with just a regular quarter inch jack input and took a battery, but all that aside these have become my favorite travel guitars. It’s nice to be able to travel around in various temps and not worry if the weather is going to mess with your guitars. I had one small issue with a couple of the X4Pros, but the representatives were some of the best representatives I have ever worked with online. They quickly helped me resolve the issue. If a person is deciding between the big brother or the little brother I would definitely recommend the minis over the larger ones even though I like them both. They are both great guitars and it just comes down to preference. I gave a couple away as presents so I’ll eventually buy another new one. The cases are surprisingly very nice too. I ordered the X3 Pro mini and the smaller Nova Go to compare before choosing to keep the X3 Pro mini. Here’s my take if you’re interested….the X3 Pro looks, feels and most notably sounds like a real guitar. Also, for me it’s more comfortable to play as it’s still large enough for an arm rest. I’m 5’7” so this guitar is perfect for couch, porch or travel. The Nova Go is neat and at times I thought it sounded good but it’s much smaller and tends to have a boxy, sometimes plastic toy sound. If portability is the primary concern the Nova Go is certainly a good option but I’m very pleased with the X3 pro mini. Especially considering it’s only $279 once the current 20% coupon is applied. The electronics are fun to cycle through. The action was pretty good out of the box, so I haven’t adjusted anything. The strings that come on the guitar are D’Addarrio XT 12s . I switched to 11s just because I have neuropathy from chemotherapy so I need every advantage. I also put on some D’Addario Folk nylon strings for kicks and it plays nicely with those. It also looked cool since I chose the Black/Silver nylons. I’m considering ordering a second just to set up for nylon. I switched out what look to be plastic bridge pins for some Ebony/abalone since I had a spare set and I think it adds a nice touch. I have not downloaded the associated App but will. I’m really enjoying this guitar and looking forward to experimenting with other strings ie Martin Retros, D’Addarrio Nickel Bronze. I included a size comparison pic w my Martin OOO15M. Just fyi, the Martin weighs about half as much. ... show more

    • Excellent parlor sized guitar!

I’ve been playing acoustic for a while and have many friends that also play. We are all amazed at this guitar. For a guitar of this size, its volume is is average but the tone is great. I like the electronics but even without them I have been very impressed. I did have to adjust the truss rod a bit and I shaved off .020 off of the saddle. For a couple of hours tinkering with it, I have a new favorite acoustic. It plays very easy and sounds great! If you don’t want to do it yourself is well worth the cost of a professional setup. As far as durability goes, I have been testing it by leaving it in a hot car in the Oklahoma summer sun for a couple of hours. Take it inside to my 70 degree home and there is no change. The neck stays straight and the tuning only changes slightly. I have been very impressed. I bought this as a knock around guitar but I find myself playing it more than I do my Taylor or my Martin. Give it a chance, I think you’ll be impressed as well. ... show more
