I have ordered these for years and have been really happy with the quality and the comfort these insole provide. I insert them in my sneakers and don’t necessarily consider them supportive insoles or arch supports, they are primarily for comfort, the gel provides a cushioning in the heel and plantar and metatarsal area of the foot. I just bought a new pair of fairly expensive walking sneakers and thought I had enough cushioning but after walking a few miles I realized I had better order another pair of Envelope insoles. I can definitely notice the difference. Even bought an extra pair! The photos are a pit I have had for at least 2 years and the gel hasn’t disintegrated and the gray suede lining is still like new. ... show more

    • Apparently well made, good for low arches, but not comfortable for my feet. Can't speak to durability. Don't trust size lines.

These seem to be well made and have a plushy top that wasn't clear from the picture, but for my feet they were horribly uncomfortable - even painful. I selected them since they were reviewed as having minimal arch support, which I prefer - I just wanted cushion. There was in fact minimal arch support, but the cushion was sadly not very cushy. Also, the purple area on the sole is firmer and stands up higher than the central blue area, so all the pressure when you are standing is on the outer rim of the heel, which might be great if you have central heel pain, but for a normal heel puts all the pressure in places unused to being weight-bearing, and was horribly uncomfortable. It felt painful even when just driving before I even started standing. After standing for less than 3 hours I had foot pain for a couple of days. So.... I had to take them out of the shoes and put the original (cheap) insoles back in, since even they were better than these. Also please note the size lines are inaccurate - closer to men's sizes than women's but not really exact for those either - go by your shoe/existing insole rather than the lines when you cut them if you decide to buy these. ... show more

I must have extra padding/cushioning for all my footwear and have always used Dr. Scholl's. However, I tried the gel insoles by Envelop and found them to be just as good as Dr. Scholl's. They have good cushioning and the gel is very resilient. They were easy to cut to size (use a very sharp scissor) and not difficult to remove if extra trimming was needed. I saw in some reviews that the extra ring of support around the heel hurt the bottom of their feet. The insole MUST reach the end of your shoe/boot/etc. as it can slide forward to the the end of your footwear (toward the end of your toes) and then your heel WILL be standing on the heavier gel ring support, rather than sitting in the middle of the gel ring. This is painful and probably bad for your feet. So, rather than just immediately cutting the insole to your shoe size, insert the insole and while keeping the heel pushed all the way back to the heel end of your shoe, roll or slide the rest of the insole to reach the very end of your shoe. Pull out the insole and cut at that end point. If that is too difficult, I found that you can also put the insole against the outside bottom side of your shoe and measure the length that is needed. If that proves to be a little too long, just trim off the little excess. Seems like a bit of a nuisance, but this will give you an insole that fits properly in your shoe and doesn't shift forward. I am loving this insert. Some are too thick and make your shoes too snug, this one did not do that for me. I did end up trimming down to a size 7 although my shoes are a size 8. I recommend leaving the plastic on while you trim and take the insert in and out of your shoe to get to just right. It isn't hard to cut and the plastic makes it easier to slide in and out of your shoe. Then you can feel inside the shoe to tell if an edge needs trimmed. I also like the flocking on the top, it feels like the moleskin you can buy for shoes. it is far more comfortable that having he gel part against your foot like some inserts I put this in Sketcher D'Liteswhich is a slip on mule style and it works great.This show used to come with a pink gel lining and now they have cheapened it to come with a turquoise liner with half the gel and it doesn't go side to side. This insert has made my Sketchers comfortable again. ... show more
