I installed these lights using the hole saw which you buy separately. On the negative side cutting holes in the ceiling makes a lot of dust which you have to clean up. But everything else is awesome. They fit really tight to the ceiling, are easy to install, no problem with joists or ducting - the lights are the same thickness as the ceiling drywall. I’m a big fan! ... show more

These are great lights. Be sure to set the lamp "color" all the same before you install. Also, I used a 6" Spyder carbide hole saw and the lights fit perfectly. I also used a "dust bowl" to significantly reduce dust during hole cutting (in my case, thru plaster and plaster board). The Spyder arbor shaft is too long for the dust bowl so I made a 1" round spacer... (after a dusty hole #1). ... show more

I bought these to replace the ugly domed canless Can Lights that were installed in our ceiling in various rooms throughout our home. These new lights give an almost flush appearance and a "clean" look. Installation was fairly easy (I have a construction and electrical background) with removing the old rough-in ceiling boxes being the most difficult aspect of the job in some cases (the ones nailed to ceiling joists). I like the push-in connectors vs. old school wire nuts. One thing to consider is you will need to purchase a cable grip connectors for each box as these are not included. Also a note to the manufacturer, the trim ring needs to be wider on the ceiling opening side to compensate for irregularities of the opening to hide imperfections. I opted for the 4" type rather than the 6" even though the ones I removed were 6" at least in appearance due to the oversized trim ring. The 4" fit almost perfectly in the old 4" opening. These new lights are slightly brighter than the old ones I removed. Overall I am very happy with them. I gave the lights 4 stars instead of 5 because of the narrow trim ring. On old work you need more coverage to hide imperfections which these are lacking somewhat so now I have some drywall touch-up to do. ... show more
