  • Great Workmanship and Easily Setup
Pleasantly pleased I as able to assemble in my living room single-handedly without tools and any difficulty. Need the aid of my Wife to then carry it out the slider to the outside. The width required tipping it to get past the door frame but that wasn’t any problem. The Fit and finish is immaculate. Not a blemish nor assembly hinderance. Highly recommend the purchase. My only suggestion is to check the length of any hammock you intend to hang on it because many non-camping hammocks will be too long. ... show more

  • A Great Hammock Stand...If You Don't Have to Move It
My wife and I have had ENO hammocks for a long time, however when we moved to our new home about 5 years ago, there were no trees close enough to use our slap straps, so we began looking for a hammock stand. I originally looked at one of these, but the price point was far too high to justify at the time, so I purchased a cheaper hammock stand (which, to its credit, is still functioning just fine). After receiving this one, I now understand why it is so much more expensive. 1. First, this thing is HEAVY...don't plan on moving it around by yourself. We have a small patio area just off of our garage where this is setup, so I ended up purchasing a set of these caster wheels (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004YOKC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) so I can roll it out to the fire pit without needing another person to lift the other side or dragging it across the driveway. So far, they have worked very well and they fit into the rubber feet that are on the hammock stand. 2. The hammock sits up higher in this stand than our cheaper stand. This is a good thing as it makes getting in and out of the hammock a little easier. 3. Assembly didn't take much time, although one of the side bars was extremely tight when I first assembled it (enough to where i thought I might have to return it) - appears to be a small manufacturing defect, but after a bit of jiggling, it eventually came together. Again, this thing is extremely heavy, you're going to need someone else to help you assemble it and then you're probably better off leaving it assembled for the season before storing it for winter (if you have to). The saying goes, you get what you pay for. That's especially true here. If you're concerned about portability, this isn't for you - ENO makes other options that are geared toward portability, but I'm very happy with this purchase and I look forward to many years of use. ... show more

  • The home office hammock is now open for business, thanks to my new Eno Solopod!
I love my new hammock stand! I’d been searching for the Solopod for several months with no luck, I’m so glad it’s finally in stock again! I’ve only had it several days but it was really easy to set up on my own, despite the box weighing 60+ lbs and the individual pieces weighing quite a bit. Living in a NYC apt, I don’t have a personal yard and can’t trust the walls enough to anchor anything from them, so a stand was the only way to go. Since my apt is only 650 sq ft, there’s no perfect place to set it up but I’m loving it in the living room for now—it’s a great spot for a catnap or a good movie. She’s 10 ft long and several feel wide, so make sure you can allot for the extra space, fellow city dwellers! Word to the wise, if you’re the least bit clumsy, (like I am) watch your feet placement and make sure you’re wearing real shoes before assembling! Heaven forbid you let a piece slip from your hands completely, you’ve got a broken toe or foot, for sure. My excitement and/or anxieties saved me from that actually happening, but still, be careful. Stay safe and enjoy the great indoors! ... show more

  • but I love my eno hammock
I live in town and don't have any trees in my backyard, but I love my eno hammock, so I've been waiting for them to come out with a stand that fits the eno well. (I used to have a different hammock and stand that wouldn't hold the eno; when I heard they were coming out with this, I was pretty stoked.) I think the cost of this is crazy, but that's how badly I want to use my hammock at home. It's really well made and goes together very easily. I would definitely not say this thing is portable, even though they advertise it as such. Once assembled, it's impossible for one person to move it on their own - it's large and bulky and heavy. It would be easy enough to take a part and go somewhere with it, but the pieces are rather big, so you'd need a large bag to hold them in (and it would be heavy). So yes, it's possible, but I'm not sure you're you'd want to. Something else to keep in mind is that you should try to sit and get in/out as much in center as possible. One time, when I was sitting too close to the one side, it went over. Was pretty funny - I was on the grass and it wasn't a far ride down, so I didn't get hurt - but I wasn't using it correctly. I'm super happy with the purchase. I love not needing trees to use my hammock! ... show more

  • Sturdy, attractive hammock stand
Pros: it’s sturdy enough for two adults, it’s attractive enough to leave up in the yard for a while even without the hammock on (looks like a Viking ship to me), the Eno double nest hammock hangs at the perfect height, not too low so it’s nearly touching the ground, but not too high so it’s uncomfortably taut. Cons: It’s not as portable as I would like. It’s very heavy, so taking it car camping for short trips is a bit of a hassle just to load all 6 of the large heavy pipes into the car, and the two end pieces. You’ll need a second person to help attach the two sides to each other. ... show more
