This cooler is my go to cooler. I love weight to capacity ratio. It is pretty light when it is empt. I can load it up with drinks and food and still lift it up into my truck. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing my Engel cooler. Engel coolers made the top five in several comparison videos on YouTube. I have a small Yeti (it's ok - the zipper sucks & it's too small) and a large Rtic (love it but it is too heavy). I wanted a lighter, in-between sized cooler. The Engel met my size requirements and my wallet loved it. When I saw that it came in pink, I was sold. I love that it looks like a large make up case. It keep drinks and food cold for 2-3 days. I usually leave it in the bed of my truck in the sun. The ice partially melts but everything stays cold - even on the third day. A really great cooler for the price. My only complaint: I wish there were handles on the sides for lifting it in and out of the truck. ... show more

I got this because I wanted a medium size cooler. I admit, I am a form of function guy. I like the look, design and size of the cooler. I wanted something that wasn’t too heavy. This does get heavy when it’s full of beer and ice, buts it’s manageable. The cooler is not well insulated and does not keep stuff cold very well. If you are camping you will be lucky to get 2 days of ice retention. The lid seems somewhat flimsy when opened. The handle seems somewhat flimsy - I wouldn’t trust it with a heavy load. I take this to use everyday at work. This is an honest review for people like me who want to use this as a cooler. I will try to be as factual as possible. I bought it for a 3 day canoe trip. I didn't expect this cooler to hold ice for 3 days, but I wanted the water tight seal. I have no doubt this cooler/drybox works fantastic as a dry box or lunch box. But as a cooler it's very OK. I placed four 9"x10" freezer packs inside of it. Basically it filled the cooler. After an hour or so, I touched the cooler on the outside and felt that it was very cold. I picked it up and the floor it was sitting on was cold as well. Not good because the cold was getting through the insulation. I left it overnight in my dining room (4pm - 10am). When I woke up I checked the cooler and the freezer packs were liquid. This was in winter so my house was 68-70 degrees. The quality is still good and overall I really like it, but to call it a cooler is a bit of a stretch. I lined the dry box with 1" styrofoam and repeated my experiment... the freezer packs are still half frozen after 29hrs. Despite it's lack of insulation, I feel its a good, quality product. ... show more
