    • A great little mistake!
If you compare this to any Yeti product then you are comparing two different class products. This Engel Cooler Dry box 19qt compared to a Yeti Roadie 19qt quite frankly is no comparison. ($60 vs $249) I own them both for comparison. 1st The Engel's outside size it much smaller than a Yeti. Obviously this means less foam insulation. This is where it wins in certain situations. I use it for day trips, and road trips that I don't have the need for cold food or drinks past the 2 day mark. I also was concerned about the hinges like others on this cooler but it has performed great for me so far. I can see how it would be great as a lunch box as some other users claim. It does what is built to do. Keeps food cold, or keep your dry goods dry. 2nd This cooler is much lighter than a Yeti once again because it is not built to the same standard. I do use mine as a seat from time to time and have not had any issues @200 lbs. I have used this cooler on my boat and it performed great. I would suggest the Ice packs, or frozen waters to keep your items chilled because it is only 19 quarts. I actually bought this product because I thought it might have been the deal of the century Yeti like knock off. It is not a Yeti but I was not disappointed for the $60.00 price point. It is great little cooler for the money, it is just not a Yeti. Compare it more to a similarly priced product and you will find it is a gem. Engel does make coolers that are comparable to the Yeti in the Deep Blue series. This is where my initial confusion started because my research didn't spell out the differences in the cooler series. You would think I should have known the difference up front spending 1/4 of the money. My confusion yielded me a little useful cooler that I use quite often. It is a quality product that I can see lasting for years to come. Please compare the deep blue series Engel to the Yeti if you want a true comparison. (Written almost a year later) I bought this lunchbox for my husband who works industrial construction, and he absolutely loves it. I looked religiously at the reviews before buying since he has been through several different kinds of lunchboxes. I saw some of the other guys carrying these and thought I would try to find him one. This thing is so insanely sturdy. We have used it as a camp chair and a cooler while camping. I’ve been able to pack him plenty of food for his 16 to 18 hour shifts, it’s very spacious. It keeps food perfectly cool and the little bonus tray (I thought would be kind of annoying) has actually been very helpful. I like to wait for a couple of months to see how the product uses. And this one will probably be my best Amazon purchases. It’s seals very well. The plastic parts that look like they would break easily are well very well-made. I saw a couple of reviews talking about the strap looking questionable, but that was not the case with mine. It is held up incredibly well, no rips or tears, and his proved to be very strong throughout being tossed around at work. Love the latches, love the cooler, love the strap. Everything about this cooler feels heavy duty. I’ve had it maybe 2 months now though and it has seen a fair amount of sun, lid has faded but that’s to be expected especially with the warning that high vis colors can fade. Only negative is that, what I’m assuming is attributed to the sun, is that the lid is getting hairline cracks on the corners which I assume are from the lid getting brittle due to sun exposure. As always Engel delivers. Working in trades I needed a lunchbox that can handle a rough life. This box has done just that. The color is perfect, keeps my food clean and durable enough to handle being knocked around. The size is bigger than I'm used to but not heavy. Want to add pics of the wear it's got but some of the stickers aren't for all eyes. Only downside was it only came with one insert(that's the way it comes, I wanted a second one) and had to wait almost a yr for the second one.
