  • Endoscopes Let You See What You Can't See
I have worked in the aviation industry for most of my adult life as an A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) technician and an IA (Inspection Authority) and have used an endoscope for inspections thousands of times. I have a professional endoscope which is much larger, takes more than a minute to set up and is a little more complex to operate than the Endoscope for iPhone. On a jet engine the endoscope is invaluable by getting into areas that you cannot see through normal means. You can inspect turbine blades in the high stage compressor, see the back side of bearings, see into the burner can looking for cracks in the flame holder and on a normally aspirated engine you can remove a spark plug and see inside a cylinder for burn through of the piston head or ring wear on the cylinder walls. You can see almost anywhere you can fit the camera head into. Works great for troubleshooting minor oil leaks in hard to access areas. What I Like About The Endoscope for iPhone: Can be used quickly and easily. After downloading the app, simply plug the camera into your iPhone (or iPad or tablet), activate the app and start viewing. Long cable. More than 16' in length. You'll move less often, see more critical areas. HD viewing. The display is clear and easy to see minor defects and you can get in close without taking the view out of focus. Easy to steer the camera to the places you want to view. The flexible cord makes it relatively easy to get the camera pointed where you want it. Bright LED lighting. The small LED's really light up the area you want to view. (Caution, these lights get the tip of the camera HOT). IP67 makes this camera waterproof (up to about 10ft). If you were to use this for home plumbing or water drainage, it is perfectly safe to do so. Since this camera is attached to your iPhone, you can take pictures or video that you can send to other parties or owner. This is a very cost effective way to obtain and use an endoscope. The quality of the view would be difficult to overstate and adding the ability to record HD quality pictures or video just ups the capabilities of the camera. What I Don't Like: While there is very little to complain about with the Endoscope for iPhone , the one area where I find a 'fault' is the ability to see upwards. If you are using a side access and now want to see what is at the top or to view upwards, the camera movement can be difficult. That won't be a big problem for home users or plumbers and the like, it's just something that I've determined to be difficult. Other than that, this is a great purchase with lots of upsides and capabilities. ... show more

  • Great endoscope for automotive use
The endoscope is a very helpful tool, this one is made of a strong center core that will help hold the position it was put into while being very flexible to be able to get in some strong angles. This doesn’t feel like a cheep product, but is very affordable, as per what they say it has a 1440p camera on it. And 11.48 feet long this is really nice. Not all the time will you need the length but when you do, you will be happy with this endoscope. Little background on me, I am a ford technician so I work on cars, I previously bought a used Snap-on inspection scope for over 200 dollars, for what I do its a very helpful tool but after using this endoscope I have not picked up that Snap-on scope since, now mind you my inspection scope is older it only sees 720p and only has like a 4-5 foot camera on it and I struggle getting a good Quality image out of the snap-on scope. So I can summit to warranty. But with this endoscope I don’t have that issue. It has amazing image quality. I wouldn’t say 1440p as your used too but I would say atless HD 1080p would be equivalent to the quality that I see. I will have to say the size is a little big for normal use but when you want to see into all the intake tubing on a turbocharged f150 it works great and the lighting is nice, it gets a lot brighter then the snap-on scope that I have and the dimming controls are on the attachment piece to the phone. This will have some attachment pieces for viewing 90 degrees which is nice but when you looking at the mirror piece it doesn’t take the full image and you can still see around the mirror. Which I personally don’t like. that is a minor thing and I would so get another one if I need it in the future. The app is where I feel that they saved a lot of money, its very basic, but that’s also a pro. You won’t get lost in all the settings trying to find how to take a picture. Or have to go through multiple menus to find what you need its all on the main screen. The one issue I have with the app, is when I plug in the endoscope and it doesn’t register that the camera is installed if you don’t have the app open already. So I have to unplug the camera, and plug it back it back in with the app open to have it see the scope installed. It’s not too bad of an issue for the price of this item. The images are from the scope to show clarity and sharpness and how the 90 degree attachment you can see past it on the camera Final thought TLDR Great image, the cable is long, at over 11 feet, the app is a little janky if you plug in the endoscope before launching the app it might not see that is plugged in. I would recommend this due to the practical use and the price, it’s hard not to buy. I just wished that I knew that before spending over 200 dollars on a snap-on one. ... show more
