I have had teeth grinding issues all my life but never really did too much about it. Now that I'm in my 50's and having to get dental work done because of the damage caused by that lifetime of teeth grinding, I wanted to protect my investment. I tried a number of just over the counter mouth guards and they were ok by far from a custom fit. I saw Encore on Amazon and decided to roll the dice as the reviews were good and it was true customization. When it arrived it sat for a while as I was a bit nervous about taking my own impression. I've had braces and other things so am not a stranger to impressions but certainly never done it myself. I finally gave it a go and all the watching at the dentist office must have paid off as I got a perfect impression and it wasn't difficult. I mailed away the impression and received my guard in a few weeks, I was hoping it fit well. I chose the hybrid mouth guard as it's between soft and hard, it fit perfectly, was comfortable and had no issues sleeping with it. This product is definitely a 5 star, removing the dentist as the middle man and getting a pro mouth guard for a fraction of the price. I will no doubt purchase again. ... show more

I have had three encore guards over the past 4 years. I am a heavy teeth grinder at night. To the point my teeth up top get pointy from grinding. I remember being woke up by my sister at the age of 9 because I was grinding my teeth. So it's been a life long issue for me. My service from encore has always been great. My impressions have always been easy to do and my turnaround time on my guards has always been adequate. I decided to try Remi guards. They give you two guards to the price of one encore guard. I figured that would be a great way to save money. Unfortunately, I have had a very disappointing experience so far with Remi. Enough that I need to give a nod to Encore. Through my 3 guards in 4 years from Encore, I have had a very good experience from start to finish. There are ways to save money from other companies. However, once you factor in time and frustration with the other companies, Encore is worth paying a little more for. Returned to Encore and received my impression kit lightening fast. Impression kit is of good quality with extra putty. I'm excited to get my new guards as I am stuck on store bought guards for now. Update- I am now in possession of both REMI and Encore guards. The quality, service and overall experience of the two are totally different. With Encore being the better of the two.
