This protective grip case will be adding years to my second generation square chip reader. I just upgraded to the second gen and have been looking for solutions on keeping it protective. When I'm vending, it's usually sliding around on my table bumping into things, and I want to keep it protected. This case by encased provides a protective bumper along the edges of the reader, while still allowing access to the ports and power button. Best feature? The magnet. It's crazy strong, and takes quite a lot of effort to pull it off, so I don't have to worry about losing it while I'm vending. I used it for the first time this past weekend, and I really liked that I was able to have my reader physically attached to my phone. This is a perfect fit for the USB-C version of the square reader. Each of the openings in the silicon case make accessing the chip reader, recharge port, and reset/sync button simple. It doesn't add much weight and the MagSafe ring makes it magnetic so you can stick it anywhere you have metal. I use an EZ-up and can keep it on the vertical upright to keep track during an event. I recently got a card reader and decided to try this case to add some protection against drops. It fits perfectly. I wasn't sure how the magnetic ability would work on my phone (which has a plastic case) but was surprised to see that it came with a very thin metal ring (that is adhesive). You stick the ring on your phone case and then the card reader can attach (an un attach) easily. The ring is so slim it doesn't add bulk to the back of my phone so it still slips into my pocket.
