Though the real test of a wrist watch can only be judged (forgive the pun) 'over time,' the first impressions are very much positive. Though, to my taste, the watch could be a tiny bit slimmer, I realize the direct effect of making it so would translate into a considerable increase in cost. Ergonomically, the watch is traditional--exactly what a veteran wearer of watches would want. Additionally, the watch--which I found aesthetically pleasing, is fairly light on the wrist (a plus in my opinion), and the leather strap is comfortable and easily adjusted. I do have a couple of caveats: (1) The hands of the watch are thin, and add to its attractiveness. Unfortunately, in low light and against the watch's black face, they become more difficult to read. (2) There's a numerical date function, which is a nice feature; however, as a senior citizen, I found it to be difficult to read as well. Oh man, I do like this watch. It's all black and classy and its face isn't too big, which is the issue with all the other watches that I was looking at. Good weight, feels good on the wrist. I've worn it every day for maybe a year and the band is still in good shape and doesn't smell weird in the least bit. But listen, if you get this watch know this: You will not be able to read the time in a darkened movie theater or car at night unless you wait for the bright part or catch the time as you pass the street lamp.
