I was genuinely surprised to find out how comfy this bed was! It is a bit thin for what it is and what it's worth I won't lie. But I have had really great sleep on this mattress! For sure, let it fluff up for about 24 hrs. before use. I feel like that helped significantly. I definitely feel like you could use a support under it if you aren't used to sleeping on the floor. Being from America, it does take some getting used to. I have back problems as well, and I have not been bothered by them nearly as much with this bed as my previous mattress. I would suggest getting a better pillow. The one it comes with feels some what IKEA quality. But, overall it's a great bed and the best part is I don't get overly hot anymore! That was a big problem for me since I live in a hot climate, but I haven't had that issue once!

I bought the matching bed frame to go with this comforter and sheet set. Last photo is without the white sheets on. The mattress is on the firmer side but is perfectly comfortable enough for me. The comforter is thick and cozy snd I love snuggling underneath it for a nap. I am in love with my japanese bed set and am so happy with this purchase. Such high quality!

I ordered this mattress set and the delivery company here in the US lost it but after letting the seller know the issue, they immediately sent out a replacement. The mattress is just what i needed for my small apartment and it works for me, I think it is also looks very nice and seems to be well made. I would buy from them again.

NB: I bought the full set of futon, duvet, pillow, and bedding. It’s nicely made, but ultimately prioritizes aesthetics over function. The duvet is too small for the bed by a few inches and will cover my head or my feet but not both. The duvet cover is a little too small for the duvet, so the duvet bunches up around the edges. It requires non-standard sheets, and the ones that are available are thin, coarse, and expensive. It’s extremely high maintenance overall, even to the extent of requiring procedures that are socially inappropriate for much of the west (find out before you buy if you can hang things outside at your apartment). A futon dryer is nice, but they’re uncommon and expensive in the west, and the futon will still start to smell if you don’t put it out in the sun once in a while. And to clean up under it, you have to move it. And for all this inconvenience you can expect to pay 3-7x what you would in Japan. I ended up spending about double the listed price in total after adding on a sunoko bed (rollable wood tatami alternative) and futon dryer to avoid mildew since my floors are very cold. For the same money as just the futon set you could buy a cheap conventional western bed and bedding set that’s better at everything except packing. Yes, you can pack this futon up and put it away, but it’s still rather bulky and western closets aren’t really designed to fit a futon. Much of this is probably avoidable if you just buy the futon instead of the full set like I did. Plus, for me it’s still way too soft. I should have just gotten a yoga mat.

Comfy, looks nice, came with everything you could need to sleep. I bought this for guests who visit my small apartment and stay in my living room. I’m happy that they’ll actually be comfy. I will be sleeping on it when my parents come visit and I give them my bed since I would want to give them the privacy of my bedroom while they sleep in my apartment. I am excited to sleep on my floor bed :-)

Because the mattress and comforter are wrapped until it's shipped to our door, it takes some time for the mattress to puff up. I had it in a warmer room for 2 days, flipping it twice a day and I slept on it for the first time last night and was not disappointed! Even the comforter was warmer then expected, I usually sleep with two blankets but last night I was good with just one : ) I love how this is all a set, you get pillow, matress and blanket, and then a cover for each. I'm looking forward to finding more cute patterns for the blanket cover. I will update my review if anything changes, but right now I sleep on the carpet floor and this product is a 10/10 and 10/10 for the price
