I cannot tell you how important it was for me to have YouTube when making recipes. While I do love this machine I had gone through so many batches of pasta using over half a bag of flour. I use to make by hand but machine is nice when you know.....feeling lazy. Videos sure did help with timing, tips and tricks. Great machine. When you are done using it I would recommend cleaning right away or taking apart and putting items within water so it does not harden as using the small pick tool that comes with it is tedious and can bend on you.     • Works great but there is a learning curve
I tried a failed at first. I used regular bread flour and a more liquid than I should have. It extruded but the noodles stuck together. The only noodle that worked was lasagna. So I watched a few videos and picked up some fine pastry flour. They don’t sell semolina flour near me and had to order some. I came across family recipes that need that flour too. The liquid content is very important to get it to extrude and have it not stick coming out. If you’ve ever made a good flaky pie crust that is the consistency you need to aim for. Very crumbly but will stick together if mashed. Also if you mess up and use too much liquid you can tear the dough into very small pieces, marble size, and sprinkle a pinch or 2 of flour over them before turning on. That will help keep it from becoming one big ball again right away. I haven’t tried the other attachments yet but so far I made lasagna and ramen. I think the mixer is also perfect for mixing delicate doughs like pie crust and tortilla dough. I’m going to attempt pie crust soon but to add butter I will have to open the lid and add a bit at a time of shredded cold butter. ... show more

I like it, however the motor struggles. I’ve found adding more liquid to Emeril’s recipes often helps, particularly for penne. The price is right; $100 vs $300. However, do not have a $300 Philips machine to test side be side. I also have a Kitchenaide so may buy attachments for that, however I wanted a machine to mix & extrude. ... show more

This pasta maker is good for making pasta for 2 people per batch. If you want to make a lot of pasta, a large pasta maker is better. I owned another pasta maker years ago. It did not have as many parts in the mixing bowl to make the pasta. I cannot figure how the mixing paddle come out of the mixing bowl so I can clean it. Also, you need to adjust the pasta receipe for the lack of humidity in your area. This pasta maker also has an frozen fruil maker and other attachments. I have not had a chance to use any of them, but the pasta maker motor should be able to handle the attachments. ... show more

    • Not good ffor angel hair pasta or lasagna
We liked the idea of making homemade pasta and it is easy to use and easy to clean. But it does take up a lot of space . Does not do a good job on angel hair pasta or lasagna. I ended up returning it because the value compared to the space it took up wasn't worth it for us
