This Embroidex Metal/Magnetic Hoop for Brother/Babylock Embroidery Machine 5"x7" (SA444) changed my embroidery life! I got this for my daughter's new Brother SE2000 machine and it fits perfectly. It replaces the embroidery hoop that came with the machine, which is the old style hoop that is a pain in the behind to use. With this hoop, no more trying to push the inner hoop inside of the outer hoop, all the while keeping your fabric and stabilizer from shifting and keeping the fabric taut. With this magnetic hoop, just place your stabilizer and fabric (and topper, if needed) on the hoop and then place the magnets all around. It comes with 6 magnets. Then snap it in your machine and embroider as usual. It's brilliant. Takes almost no time to hoop your fabric and it stays nice and tight. Plus no hoop marks afterward! Two things I want to mention: first, buy some more magnets if you intend to embroider heavier or other difficult fabrics. You can buy ones just like the ones that came with this hoop OR you can buy some generic, rare earth, magnets. They are stronger than ordinary magnets and if you use more magnets, your results will be superb. Second, this comes with a clear plastic grid sheet but really, you need the markings on the hoop so you can center your design properly. The solution I came up with was to mark my own with a metallic Sharpie. I covered the marks with some clear tape and I'm sure they will stay there forever. If you are an experienced machine embroiderer, you will be delighted to switch to a magnetic hoop.     • Magnetic Embroidery Hoop
This has restored my joy of machine embroidery. Regular hoops are so painful to use with injured hand. So far I have gotten beautiful results. A little hard to snap on but works. Only complaint would be to ad 2 more magnets.

I wanted to embroider some kitchen towels as a wedding gift. The wedding is in one week. I was delaying because I HATE hooping towels. 2 days ago, I struggled for about 30 minutes to hoop a towel, then after starting to embroider, found I had the towel hooped in the wrong direction. DUHHHHHHHHH! I couldn’t believe I had done such a dumb thing, and wasn’t real excited about starting a new towel. Did I mention.... I HATE hooping towels. I then decided to order this magnetic hoop. It arrived yesterday at 2pm. It was so easy to hoop the towels, that I got three towels embroidered yesterday afternoon/evening. I have a Brother PE 800. My only concern was that the hoop did not snap into the embroidery arm like the hoop that came with the machine. I decided to try it anyhow and it worked fine. The magnetics are VERY strong. I like the way you can move them around if needed. I like that if you run out of bobbin thread, that if the hoop is not directly over your bobbin access, that you can change the bobbin without taking the hoop off the machine. I’m going to go make some more towels. Watch your scissors, they can get stuck to a magnetic when snipping threads. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Overall I'm moderately satisfied with this product. I have small hands so hooping fabric accurately can be tricky at best and agonizing at worst. Using this hoop the process is a lot more straightforward. A couple things I noticed with this hoop with my brother PE800: In certain spots the mounting location of the hoop likes to squeak against the plastic of the machine. This is remedied by applying a tiny bit of upward pressure at that mounting location, but I'm curious if there's a permanent solution like some sort of tape or felt. Depending on your design you may want more magnets, which you can buy eight of on their own. My designs have a lot of dense satin stitches so I found that the fabric puckered with only six magnets applied to the perimeter. Overall satisfied! ... show more

    • It works with the Brother PE900
The 5x7 magnetic hoop works well with the Brother PE900. It’s easy to use and the magnets are strong. It’s making embroidery easier. I like it so much that I bought other sizes, 4x4, 5x12, and 1/2x2. I use less stabilizer with these hoops.

    • Works Fantastic once I learned how to use it
Once I got the hang of how to use this hoop, I love it. I was used to a regular embroidery machine hoop; this hoop is completely different. This metal magnetic hoop makes it so much easier to hoop a project. With non-adhesive stabilizer I put the stabilizer right on top of the hoop, put my article on top of the stabilizer, attach the magnets, then attach my hoop to my machine. In some You Tube videos I see someone attaching the hoop to the machine first and then the stabilizer and item to be embroidered. If the stabilizer is adhesive, then can adhere your stabilizer to the wrong side of the hoop, turn your hoop over, and attach your item to the sticky part of the stabilizer. There are some good You Tube videos on how this works. I bought this hoop (5X7) for my Brother PE800, and also bought the 4X4 hoop for my Brother PE800. This way I have both hoops and also 8 magnets to use since each hoop comes with 4 strong magnets. That would be my only gripe about just buying one hoop; 4 magnets aren't enough to hold most items tightly on the hoop. All in all I highly recommend the metal magnetic hoops. ... show more
