I bought this so I could do bigger embroidery projects than my 4x4 and I must say I’m obsessed!! Very easy to use. If you do embroidery, chances are you already have a digitizing software. Learning how to split up my design to make it fit into the proper measurements for my machine was a learning process but YouTube helped!! ... show more

    • Perfect for Brother SE400
This hoop worked perfectly on my SE400. I think those who say it doesn't work, may be thinking with a larger hoop you can do a larger design. The SE400 will only do designs that are for 4"x 4" no matter how large your hoop is. This larger hoop allows you to add other designs without rehooping your fabric. Be aware that the machine starts at the middle of the hoop, so if you want to add other designs you may need to adjust the layout, which is shown in the instruction booklet. ... show more

This hoop fits my Brother SE 400 perfectly and is easy to use. I can split a larger design into 2 or 3 separate files using the software program Sew What Pro. This hoop has three positions, each of which will still only do a 4x4 section. Each section overlaps in the software so you can find the best position to split your designs. The total area that you can embroider on this hoop is 6.77x3.94" which suits my needs just fine. There a great many 5x7 designs that I can size down just enough to fit this space and make them work out well. This has opened up a much wider range of possibilities for me to play with my machine. I have made a couple shirts already and I've only had my hoop for a few days. See the pics of my designs... ... show more

This product deserves more stars than I can give it. It is so easy to use and really expands what I can do with my 4”X4” machine. My picture shows the typical size of what I can stitch out with my machine and the design shows the increased area with this larger multi-positional hoop.     • Ok but not as good as original hoop
I was very happy with this when I first bought it over a year ago because it fit perfectly on my SE400 and I was able to save on fabric and stabilizer because I could reposition the hoop. However, as I didn't used it much, what I didn't notice right way was that the inner tray didn't fit in as tightly as the original hoop that came with the machine. If I just use cotton fabrics, no more how tight I screw the hoop up, the embroidery motion shifts the fabric and I get puckers at the least. One time my machine made a weird, scary noise and stopped. When I checked it, the fabric had bunched up a bit on an area which had a thick embroidery and my needle broke. This was because the hoop couldn't keep the fabric tightly in the hoop and so it kept on stitching the same area. I tested the same pattern on the original hoop and it stitched beautifully because the fabric stayed taut all the time. I can still use it for thicker fabrics and simple embroidery patterns so it is not totally wasted. ... show more
