    • Cool gadget... Literally 😁!!
This thing is amazing. It looks like a watch, so it's very discreet. But it's quite effective at relieving hot spells. I don't know how well it works at keeping you warm because it's the middle of summer and I haven't had the chance to try out it's warming capabilities yet. I will say that it feels quite hot on my wrist on the lowest setting because I activated the heating mode by accident when I first wore it. I'll try to update my experience with this during winter use. My wife brought the EMBR Wave hone one day; she borrowed it from a coworker. She told me what it does and I was very skeptical. But she enthusiastically claimed that it kept away her hot flashes (lately she's always warm and sweating), and that she was also calm. We both also suffer from night sweats and often have difficulty sleeping, even with the air conditioner on. But since we got the EMBR Wave 2 we've both been sleeping comfortably at night. I first thought that this was only for women. But after wearing the first generation Wave and experiencing how well it worked for me, we both ordered 2 units; one for each of us. Prime had an estimated 3 day delivery, but we opted for the free 2 day delivery from the seller. And to our surprise these arrived the next day. We ordered them on Wednesday afternoon and received both units Thursday afternoon. Wow! Kudos to the seller. The EMBR Wave 2 is very easy to wear and to take off. The band is a fine mesh metal band with a strong magnet to hold it in place. The side with the square ceramic tile goes on your skin, and it's recommended to have the buttons facing your elbow. But I face the buttons toward my fingers instead because I can see the tiny L.E.D. light much easier this way and it doesn't affect the unit's effectiveness. The button with the white dot is for cold and the other button is for heat. Press the dotted button twice to activate the cooling effect and keep tapping to increase cooling level. The same procedure is done on the other button for heat. There are 5 temperature levels. Blue light indicates cold, red is for heat, and white means your EMBR has been activated. The Wave 2 lasts about 2 days of constant use for us and it takes about 2 hours to fully charge. A magnetic charging disc and USB C cable comes with the device. Two POGO pins magnetically attach to gold contacts on back of the Wave 2. There are only a few negatives I can say about the Wave 2. The first is that it uses a charging disc with a removable USB C cable. This is another piece of equipment I really don't want to carry or have it break on me. The original Wave only used a micro USB cable to plug in the back. I wish the Wave 2 used only a USB C cable to charge. Next, the band, although nice, is not removable. That means you can't change it to your favorite watch band. Some people may have allergies to the metal in this band. Next, the design change really doesn't do it for me. It seems that the Wave 2 cooling/heating surface is smaller than the Wave's. I also prefer the large L.E.D. bar on the Wave. The Wave 2 buttons and light are tiny. I really like the light bar on the original Wave. It was more intuitive, easier to see, and easier to operate. It might seem like these negatives are a deal breaker. But the improved quality of life that we're enjoying now outweigh these small negatives. I would ask the designers to bring back the design of the original Wave and add a USB C connection for faster charging, instead of micro USB. If you suffer from hot flashes, night sweats, feeling cold too easily, I recommend giving the EMBR Wave 2 a try. And the seller does a great job of sending it out quickly to you too👍 ... show more

    • Works once or twice, and then it doesn't
I have a problem that keeps me overheating when I exert myself. I have to walk 3 miles each way into my workplace, and it's in open sun all the way. I thought this would help reduce my sensation of being too hot, even in the winter when the highest temperature is usually under 70 degrees. It worked the first time I tried it; I felt the cool on my wrist, and within minutes I wasn't noticing how hot it was. I was really happy with the result, fooling my brain into thinking I was cool, at least enough to let me get through the walk. The problem is that after the first day I used it, it went dead, and I had to charge it. I did so--which is a little tricky to get two tiny prongs into the charger!-- and the first two times I did, it worked again. Then the third time it worked for one quick cool flash, and didn't even finish the little cycle of cool on, cool off. Now it's just useless, since it failed past the date to return it (I didn't need to use it right after Christmas to cool off!). I can't even find a way to contact the company to find out what could be going wrong, or to send it in to get fixed. It's a shame, because it would have been a boon when I am out and about in intense heat in the summer. I wanted it for that reason! The device would be a real boon for me, if only it worked. As it is, I am feeling duped by the company, and choose to warn others that this overpriced device and this company have problems too expensive to warrant taking a chance like I did. ... show more

    • Helps when I get hot!
I went through a year of constant hot flashes and this really helped me. Now I use it just when I'm going to a convention, Disneyland etc. Any place where it's crowded and I might get overheated or if it's just a super hot day outside. I have never used the heat function but have accidently turned it on and I can see how it would help if I was ever cold. When I was having hot flashes every 10 minutes I used the app and set it up to go on and off continually. Word of advice, by the warranty. I had my first one for one year and it suddenly stopped working. The insurance refunded the full amount and I bought another one. And just to clarify, the underside of the device gets cold and helps to cool you down. On a side note, get a neck fan too for the perfect combination of relief! ... show more

    • Had high hopes for this
I suffer from debilitating hot flashes and have for several years now. When I saw this on TV I thought my prayers were answered. Unfortunately, they weren't. Before purchasing I read others reviews and thought it must work if so many people were having success. Once I received it I charged it as instructed. It attaches with a metal band and a metal mesh chain that have magnets hold it together. There are 2 buttons that you have. One will give you heat bursts and one will give you cooling bursts. They are on a 10 minute timer so if you are still in need of more you will have to start over. There is an app that you can download that will allow you to set various tasks such as intermittent cooling or heating throughout the night. However, I found that if I used the all night feature that it would die somewhere in my sleep cycle. The device also can get hot to the touch. They tell you that you cannot cover it while you sleep which makes it very uncomfortable to sleep. I really wanted this to work for me but unfortunately it just didn't work as prescribed. I would even be happy if I had received 50% relief but I didn't. I can see where it may work for people who do not have super intense hot flashes. I am going to return this as I personally do not feel it is worth it. However, I would suggest that anyone try it just to see if it will work for you as you can return within the allotted return period. If you do purchase and you decide to download the app please be aware that they track a lot of things about your personal habits and may sell them to a 3rd party. I found that the app would rarely work for me so I gave up on it after a couple days as it kept getting errors. ... show more

I’m giving this four stars because it’s good, not awesome. I think if I were using this to warm myself up, I might be rating it a five. The warm setting was so gentle and nice. However, I’m 44 and I could only stand the thought of trying the warm setting once 🫠 Yes, I bought this for hot flashes, hot misery of a life (heat intolerance). However, when my body felt the “cooling” sensation on my wrist, it processed it as searing heat. I could barely tolerate setting 2 after trying to train myself that “no, that’s not an electrical burn, that’s a cool sensation”. **Which— I do not want to claim the device is painful!!** it isn’t. My body just… didn’t… necessarily… think… “this sensation is cool”. Does that make sense? I hope it does. I don’t want to scare anyone into thinking it’s painful. Because even if I had it at setting 6 or 7, (I played around) I’d just think “wha? What’s happening??” So, anyway. My sister has the inability to keep herself warm (she’s younger than me. I used to be cold too 😒. Jk. Hers is serious). So I’ve told her about it so she can mention it to her doctor. I think it’s a great idea and since there’s limited options short of crawling inside the freezer, this is portable, discreet, AND can do heat and cold. It was a bit heavy on my arm but I don’t have super strong arms so that might affect my perception. The band was magnetic so it could fit any wrist. I did find myself adjusting it often, trying to see if one spot worked better than another. Or if I needed some air- or this or that. But that’s the beauty of a magnetic strap. You can make micro adjustments for the perfect fit. I never ran into a problem with the battery life. One day I wore it for about five hours on a low setting and I think the next day it was maybe at 40%? So that seemed pretty good to me. It was pretty notorious at disconnecting from my phone which runs the programs so that was a bit annoying.     • Feels momentarily cool on your wrist, but that’s about it
Pros: The slight cool on the wrist is nice when you first feel it, but even when I tried to visualize it cooling me down it didn’t really have an effect. I liked being able to push it when I felt hot and feel like it was going to cool me down, but that’s about as far as it went. Con’s: The metal clasp on the metal band would slide around at times. It’s also quite large on the inside of your wrist so if you are typing or using a laptop, it can be annoying and it scratches easily. I also didn’t like how the face outside gets quite warm as the inside tries to cool. Bottom line: It can be a fun gadget but at this price it should actually cool you down.     • For me, this is AMAZING!
Skeptical does not come close to describing my thoughts reading about this product. Finally got to the point I could no longer stand sweating all night, trying to sleep, cranky due to no sleep, washing bedding every morning, so I bought it. Took a few minutes to set up and get used to, but man oh man! Finally! Some sweet relief. I run hot all the time, so hot flashes are truly next level unbearable. Head in freezer? Check. Ice cubes in bra during the day (all the way around)? Check. Cooling towels/blankets? Check and check. Cold showers (no hot water on at all)? Check. Ice packs for head/face/front/back? Check x4. Everything helped temporarily, but who wants to get up several times a night to take a cold shower and stick head in freezer? So wonderful to wake up dry and not feel like I am on fire. Purchased two more to gift. Gifted one and she loves it. Kept the second one so one can charge while I wear the charged one. I know they are pricey, but unless you try it, you will never know.
