I have 4 of the Ember mugs. I have the red travel mug, the 12 ounce copper mug, the 14 ounce mug in a stone color and this 6 ounce mug. I get more use out of this mug than any of them and this wasn’t my first ember purchase. I love this mug. When I have to get ready for a meeting on the fly, I’m grabbing this mug because I want to get through my coffee a little quicker. It’s the right size for quick coffee that you won’t have too much time for sipping on hours. It’s the perfect size when you don’t want a lot. More importantly its size doesn’t lessen the amount of time your coffee stays hot either. I’d say to me it appears to stay hotter longer than any of my mugs and that could be due to its size.     • Killer upgrade and better with PortaVia lid!

This was not my first Ember. I previously owned the Ember mug which lasted a number of years before the battery finally failed. I replaced it with 2 of the Cups for less than the cost of a replacement mug. These devices are much better now with longer battery life. I'm still using the original charging plates which is a bonus as I can charge in multiple locations. While rated for 90 mins, I enjoyed over 4 hours of hot coffee (multiple refills) by using a silicone coffee cup lid - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FSTCBPZW?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1.     • The Bluetooth is so broken

I really like this product and my household now has four of them but the Bluetooth connection in them is completely broken and it seems it’ll never be fixed. They will basically never seamlessly connect to your phone again after the initial setup so make sure you pick the right settings the first time and just don’t bother with the app again after that. If you ever do need to use the app again then you’re in for 10-15 minutes of trying to get it to connect and half the time it just won’t work at all no matter what dance you do with pairing, unpairing, holding buttons, or toggling settings. I’m a software engineer and I can’t even get it to work usually. Honestly they should be embarrassed that they’ve made such a nice looking product that functions well at its intended purpose of heating coffee but fumbled the software and firmware so badly, and they still haven’t fixed it for version 2. If the software is that impossible for them to get right then for the next version they should just remove Bluetooth and add buttons to adjust the temperature. ... show more

I've always had to drink cooled espresso drinks because the small volume (2 oz)) cools quickly. And anyone who has to feed complaining cats knows there isn't time to drink hot espresso.     • Company does not stand behind product - finish eroded, danger

I love the idea of the cup and it works good for coffee and keeping it hot. Up until the problem that I have I would have scored it a five star rating. But I give it a one star rating because of the fact that thisvery expensive product, which had its finish come off on the inside shortly after one year of use, and the manufacturer will not stand behind the product. I followed your instructions. I never use an abrasive item to scrub out the interior of the cup. My big problem is that just passed the one year warranty period I noticed that the interior finish started coming off. Check out the video. I’ve contacted Ember, and they essentially say ‘too bad so sad. We warranty it for one year.’ I pleaded with them… This is dangerous. I must be ingesting part of the finish. Really unhappy with Customer Service and also I am super concerned about anybody who uses the copper finish version. Quite a challenge after investing well over $100 in the product. ... show more

    • It is a huge pain.

Because the cup decides for itself whether or not it contains coffee, it often refuses to turn on even when it's full of coffee. Every single morning I have to negotiate with it to get it to turn on. Once it turns on the coffee is cooled off and then I have to wait fifteen minutes while it warms it back up. If ANY other company made a self-heating 6 oz cup I would return this in a heartbeat. I will never buy another Ember product. I have a 16 oz NextMug and it works flawlessly and has for four years. Unless you specifically need a 6 oz cup, pass on Ember and buy NextMug. ... show more

I’ve had the ember mug for several years, but as a person who drinks very small amounts at a time I’ve found that I like the cup so much more! The battery lasts longer, and I think it does a better job of keeping the drink at the correct temperature. It works with the same lid and charger too, which has been super convenient. It’s a bit heavier than I expected for the size and the lip is a little thicker than the mug, but it’s still really nice to drink out of. ... show more

I always make a cortado in the mornings before commuting to work, M-F. On the weekends, I make a small drink and enjoy it right away, but during the week, it might be a while until I’m on the road and have some time to reach over to enjoy my first sip. This is perfect for me. The first sip is the perfect temperature, and I don’t have to rush to finish it before it gets cold. I like that it has no handle because I can fit this and some mineral water in my cup holders at the same time, and the cup has a nice weight and feel to it.
