Size: USB Speed Fan 120mm
This really is a great product. Especially for the price. It’s a breeze compared to my old setup. Before I came across this gem, I’d been using just a regular old computer fan that I’d yanked from Dianne’s computer and an old camcorder battery I kept from my days working on adult films. It didn’t have any fancy settings or any of this newfangled protection they put into everything nowadays. It was either on or off and if I grabbed it while it was running, I nicked my fingers and that’s just how it was, until I found this product. It’s a little bigger than my old fan, so it fits snuggly into my back pocket, with plenty of cord to reach my new power bank I keep in my other pocket or my satchel, and it keeps the air moving. The HML switch is small enough to fit through my belt loops and with some planning, the cable can easily be strung through my belt loops keeping the switch conveniently placed at my side for easy access. Stringing it through my belt loops also keeps excess cord from being snagged by my flailing arms or those damn doorknobs Dianne insisted we get when we remodeled our home last year. I couldn’t believe how great the HML controller is for quick and easy control of the fan speed. The different speeds are great for a variety of cases. The lowest speed is great for just keeping the air flowing and keeping my pants cool and dry while the highest setting is great for quickly dispersing increasingly pungent smells. And it’s so quiet. Even on the highest setting, the fan remains silent. No more awkward “what’s that humming noise?” questions from people I got with my old fan. If it weren’t for the constant cool breeze, I’d forget it was even there. The grates on both sides are a MUST-HAVE. I thought I would just take them off, but they really do provide great protection on both sides of the fan. I no longer nick my fingers when I remove the fan from my pocket when I forget to turn it off. I haven’t had to put a new bandaid on my finger in days. And no more awkward fidgeting trying to readjust the fan in the heat of the moment after it’s become snagged on the pocket lining. My old fan constantly got caught up on my pocket lining. But the grate keeps the lining away from the fan blades no matter what. And the grate is strudy, too. Only the one time have I managed to depress it far enough that it came into contact with the fan. But, that was only because I accidentally sat down on the metal bleachers at Mathew’s baseball game with it still running in my pocket. But, even then, the grate bounced right back and didn’t bend at all. It’s still as straight as a rabbit’s ear on the Fourth of July. I’d recommend this product to anyone looking for a pocket fan. I like it so much, I’ve already purchased one for work, one to keep in my pickup, one to keep in Dianne’s car, and even one for David because I know he’ll just love it. There’s nothing better than having a cool crevasse in the heat of summer, being able to disperse those wrank bouts of gas after Dianne’s world famous enchiladas, and warm apple pie. Just the other day, Dianne and I were grocery shopping. I let one slip in the produce section down there at the Walmarts. I flipped the switch to high and in a matter of seconds, it was a row over. The poor girl stacking the carrots started gagging because she thought some of her produce had gone bad. But no one looked at me for a change. ... show more

  • Perfect for cooling a hot and slow wifi router
Size: USB Speed Fan 120mm
I bought this to cool down an AT&T NVG599 modem and router combo that I noticed would get very hot with incredibly slow wifi, requiring a daily reset. I looked inside the router and saw that there was no active cooling at all, only two heat sinks with no airflow. Putting a fan in front of the router seemed to fix the wifi lag, but the only fan I had was big, loud, and probably used too much electricity to cool a single router. Due to the terrible internal design of the NVG599 modem I had to set the fan to high, but the fan is very quiet even on high when placed in my living room. However, It might produce a humming that would be noticeable in a small and quiet bedroom. It's totally irresponsible that companies design wifi routers without active cooling because hot routers are a real issue that leads to slow wifi, but I can see why ISPs would be motivated to cut this particular corner. Whenever I've asked technicians from AT&T and Verizon that have come to my house to service my internet they found this idea to be ridiculous and blamed it on my cheap internet plan. But from my own experimentation, I know that router heat is the real issue because Ethernet connections work fine and wifi is still slow even when testing the speeds right next to my router. Before you shell out more money for subpar internet from the big ISPs, give this fan a try. ... show more

  • Does it's job, quietly... If you get one that works.
Size: 40mm USB Speed Fan
I bought two of these little fans to Attach to two terrariums I use as greenhouses for new propegated plant babies. I cut one hole on the bottom, left side at the front of the tanks and another hole in the top right corner towards the back of the tanks. I used RTV silicone to attach 50 mesh stainless steel screen, (small enough to allow air flow/exchange and keep thrips and other nasty bugs out) then while the silicone is still wet I carefully clamp one of these fans onto the outside of the screen in the top right corner, so that the fan is pulling out OUT of the tank, not blowing air in, as the fan is intended for. This effectively creates adequate air exchange inside the terrariums by pulling air into the tank from the hole on the bottom left side of the tank upward to this exhaust fan in the top, back corner. So air comes in from the bottom front corner on the left side of the tanks, and the fans pull the air through the tank and out the opposite side of the tank in the top, back corner. The fan is so quiet I sometimes forget it's on, effectively dropping the humidity level inside the tanks to around 30%... Oops. But I did notice that the noise the fan makes is completely relative to the surface it's mounted to, how it's mounted to that surface, and how flat each corner of the housing sits against the surface. I removed the metal blade gaurd because I needed to flip the fan around so it was pulling air out, not blowing air in, and the fans are just as flat on both sides to accommodate reverse mounting. The screws that were included are only useful for attaching the blade gaurd to the fan housing when the fan is mounted in reverse. The housing has predrilled holes in each corner that when mounted for blowing air into something the screws are just barely long enough to grab onto the mounting surface, but only in two corners and the screw were just barely long enough. For some reason the screws wouldn't reach far enough to sink into the surface enough to grab onto. If you intend to use the fan as an exhaust and pull air out of an Enclosure, be aware that you will need an alternate means of mounting the fan because the housing isn't designed to allow the screws to be screwed in from the reverse side, and they will definitely not reach the surface you are attaching the fan to. In fact, the screws would need to be about 3x longer to secure the fan from the opposite side. Which isn't anything wrong with the fan, just something to note for anyone intending to mount the fan so it pulls air out instead of blows air in. The adjustable speed controler has 3 settings, low, medium and high, and all 3 are very quiet. I actually need to get a programmable timer for it because it's so quiet I keep forgetting it's on which isn't good considering I live in Arizona and my plants need an environment that maintains >65% humitidy. I tested each of the two fans I bought prior to mounting them, (to avoid finding out they didn't want to rk AFTER the RTV sealant had cured) which I'm glad I did because one of the two fans was defective and wouldnt turn on. So I returned the faulty one and bought a new one from the same seller, and the second fan works fine. So 2 out of 3 fans I got worked as expected, one of them didnt work at all. Something else to keep in mind if you have difficulty taking Amazon return boxes to the UPS store. If you need to return the fan, Amazon charges $7.99 for UPS to pick up it up from your house. Both fans have been running intermittently throughout the day, 7 days a week for about 2 months now and I haven't had a single issue with either one. So as long as the fan works properly on arrival, they are great quality fans that perform as described. They are perfect for moving air through my little plant enclosures, but they drop the humidity levels from around 75% to whatever the ambient humidity level is in the room in about 2-3 minutes, so keep an eye on your hydrometer if you intend to use them for air exchange on a terarrium/vivarium/plant enclosure. If you need a wide range of air flow power between the different speeds, this might not be the best option. But if you looking for a very quiet little fan to move some light air around, these fans are great, just don't expect them to blow the dust off anything. ... show more

  • So useful!!!
Size: 40mm USB Speed Fan
Where has this product been all my life??? It has so many amazing uses. So I bought an On. 4K streaming box at Walmart. It’s amazing. Supports HDR, Google voice commands and is very snappy- only problem is that it doesn't have active cooling, only passive cooling. It kept overheating and would reboot itself randomly when that happened. I opened it up- added this fan to it and have been a happy camper ever since. Highly recommended. ... show more
