With our sprouting lids for mason jars, you can enjoy a constant supply of fresh, nutritious greens, all while saving money.
  • MADE FROM 316 STAINLESS STEEL: Don't settle for a lower quality 304 stainless steel mason jar strainer lid, which will rust over time. Our sprout kit is made from the highest quality 316 stainless steel and BPA-free plastic, making them safe, durable & reusable.
  • USE FOR ANY GERMINATION PROJECT: Easily grow your own broccoli, bean sprouts, and alfalfa sprout seeds at home with our beans sprout lids. Our sprouts grower will turn any wide mouth mason jar into an indoor greenhouse for your favorite greens.
  • EASY TO CLEAN: Our sprouting jar lids are not only easy to use, but they're also easy to clean and store. Simply rinse them under running water and they're ready to use again. Their compact design is easily stored in any drawer.
  • EASY TO USE WITH ANY WIDE MOUTH MASON JAR: Just soak sprout seeds in a mason jar overnight, then put the lid on the jar and invert to drain the water. Rinse a few more times and drain, leaving the jar upside down. Rinse and drain twice a day, making sure to shake gently. After 3-7 days, your sprouts should have reached their desired size. Rinse and store in the fridge. The fine mesh mason jar lid is designed to keep even the smallest seeds inside the jar, while allowing proper air circulation.

The lids are perfect. They made sprouting mung beans successful and easy to do. It was a good investment and I expect to get years of use from these lids. They rinse off easily. They easily fit a wide mouth quart Mason jar. It was an easy simple process to rinse the bean sprouts. I am very happy with this product. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Pros and cons to this quality product--current product images misleading.
I decided to take a gamble on these sprouting lids even though there were not yet any reviews. I already have some sprouting lids that I like but had a few reasons for wanting to try another style. I figured that if nothing else, they would be a cheap enough option to use for refrigerator storage of sprouts grown with other lids (while those ones are being washed). Warning: I am a detail oriented person :). The mesh is pretty fine--fine enough for quinoa, not so sure about the finest salad seeds. The hole of the plastic part is generous enough for good air circulation and good seed-rinsing off the mesh, unlike some competitors who have too much of the top covered by the plastic rim. The real surprise is that, contrary to what the photos suggest, the metal mesh is a separate disk from the plastic rim. It would never sit inside a rim that had been positioned face up (as in photos) unless it was screwed onto a jar. The good news in that is (a) this way one doesn't have to worry about mesh pulling away from the plastic, as has been a quality control issue with some competitors, (b) this is a rigid and likely higher quality stainless steel mesh that I have every expectation will remain rust free, and (c) this is easier to get clean of clingy seeds The bad news about the mesh: it’s hard to get the water well drained. A video from the sprout people taught me that it’s important to break the tension created at the interface of the mesh and the water (I don't remember my physics lessons as to explain why, but it is so). To do so Press hard on the rigid mesh while shaking upside down. This helps, but the seeds are still way more wet than they are when I’m using “bean screen” lids. And more shaking is required to get them moderately dry. In sprouting, draining properly is, after cleaning properly, your #1 challenge. Seeds sprout better when drier and are less likely to grow nasties. I found the green rim initially hard to thread on my 24 oz wide mouth ball jars. It seems to screw off easily enough, though. Where hard to thread lids really cause troubles is when they create issues for removal. All in all I could have done worse in my slightly-cheaper-than-most gamble purchase, and I'll look forward to experimenting with these more. I’m thinking as metal lids go these aren’t a bad option. ... show more
